@@MADNEWYORKER914 listen up class is in session..yeah it's just ignorance... an aversion to things u not used to (blacks, Mexicans or otherwise).. mostly with the old folks. The younger generation that never been to the states either holds similar opinions to their parents or were exposed to and usually fucc w/black culture via Hip Hop/R&b as brought back by their family members in the states. Then of course there are those who simply don't have an opinion on black folks. Growing up in American Samoa in the late 90's/ early 00's I can say that being an American territory we might've had more exposure to American culture than Western Samoa (the Independent state of Samoa) which is where my dad's from. Ultimately class struggle tends to be a universal experience and much of who we fucc with depends on who the first-generation immigrants fucced with when they first got here. 9 times out of 10 it was with poor folks(blacks, Mexicans, sometimes poor whites).. Another element to consider is that many Samoan-Americans came here via military enlistment.

First off, much love to ALL my Black and Hispanic Kings and Queens ✊🏽Now it's a complex issue. Samoans from the island that never been no where hold a natural aversion to things they not used to (blacks, Mexicans or otherwise).. This applies mostly to the old folks. The younger generations that never been to the states either holds similar opinions to their parents or were exposed to and usually fucc w/black culture via Hip Hop/R&b as brought back by their family members in the states. Take that how you will but my guess is that the ones who did well for themselves in the military got bougee and passed it on to the coming generations. Overall the Samoan culture places the highest emphasis on family loyalty. Who you see as family depends on who/what you were exposed to growing up so its really a question of exposure.

Good interview. Great that these Rips have excellent memories. Kev Mac, please compile photos of the Grandee's. Movie Star, Salty, King Rat, Head Honcho, Mac Thomas. There seems to be alot of focus on Raymond and Took but from other interviews there is no mention of Craig Craddock who according to Terry Craddock was the actual organizer, Negotiator of the Crips before Took hit the scene. Of course he got took out early. And Mac Thomas seemed to have a huge role in Compton/Watts that eclipsed Took but again took out the game early. Just thoughts. Great interviews though.

JaySavageTV nah Spook Town not right next to South Side. It’s a half a mile of industrial factories plus the Alameda train tracks that separate the two hoods. South Sides ends at Santa Fe. And Spook Town starts at Alameda. Spook Town is closer to Acacia Blocc who are literally on the other side of the light. South Side is a 10 minute walk from Spook Town. STCC and SS hoods have never been tight and are not close enough to overlap. Their hoods don’t touch each other.

Kev mac you should contact UNICEF in New York city so you could speak at the United nations. To let the world know the trauma we had to face as kids growing up in the streets of los Angeles watts and Compton and what it did our community today. The United nations would help us because America has failed us

This was an interesting first part of the interview. Really as far as the history of PVCC. Major shout out to Kev Mac for another great interview! Being that the Grandees were one of the first Crip neighborhoods in Compton. At the time, from the story that was told about the incident with the sawed-off and transitioning to Crips. Why did they choose to be Crips? Was it at the time, being a Crip looked at as being cool? I mean no disrespect by my question. By any means.
