To get the most accurate reading on the air pressure in the trailer suspension, release the trailer brakes first. As an air suspension cycles up and down it actually travels thru an arc. With the brakes on in the truck and the trailer they can fight each other causing more or less air to show on the gauge than it will actually adjust to once you get on the road. Same goes for disconnecting from trailer, always dump bags (especially on a loaded trailer) before disconnecting tractor. If suspension leaks down it can apply enough of a forward push to bend the dolly legs sometimes to the point that they fail completely.

It wasn't that long ago that you were riding shotgun while your relative was delivering a load to Gavilon. It just goes to show that one experience leads to others, so jumping at the chance to experience something can open doors for you in the future. Going from dairy to beef was another example for you. As I have said elsewhere, I've never been in a semi. Most likely, I never will. That's not a door that I need to open. However, throughout my life and career, I've had chances to explore different things, different shifts, etc, and that has definitely put me in a better position than I would have been had I never given them a chance. Thank you for letting all of us "experience" so many things through your various camera lenses and life which many of us might otherwise never see or know.

Hey Ryan how's it goin... Great Job Today with Big Reds Home Opener... How many loads did you haul on his First Day In Action... Lots more Great Future Videos to Come... After you get several grain hauling trips under your belt, you may consider doing something... When you get some free time, you may want to take a load to a Truck Stop with a Certified CAT Scale so you get accurate weight readings on each axle grouping... You stated the scaled weight at the elevator on your first load was 79,500+ and Wisconsin's GVWR was 80K... Getting stopped Outside of Harvest Time by a portable DOT Weight Scale on the side of the road and getting a ticket for overweight on a set of your axles would NOT be very fun... Getting all your axle groups checked with a loaded trailer may give you some Piece of Mind, plus some idea on how to balance your Grain Load from the Front Hopper to the Back Hopper... Take Care Young Man... And Thanx for sharing... Andy....Southeast Missouri...

Ryan you should get a wheel alignment on the trailer just to be sure, it does look to that it is not tracking true, it even showed that on the vid, when you was on the scale your trailer wheels were much closer than the truck to the guide rail on it, it was even noticeable in an earlier vid when you were taking a test drive, up to you though but it could save you dollars from scuffed out trailer tyres

Since you can take the time and load right out of the bins instead of filling the grain cart to fill trucks do you expect to have less dockage because of cracked kernels since your eliminating an extra run through an auger.
@jeffgixer51855 жыл бұрын
You know in our experience it has never really mattered. We have side draws on our bigger bins where the corn never goes through an auger. The FM doesn't change if we use that or the auger. The worst two load out of the bin for FM are always the first and the last load.
