it's easily Big sean's best album (but then again that's not saying much), the album is still solid tho
@jizag07167 жыл бұрын
Big Sean said that the concept of the album is basically him being and old man and his life is basically shit and he's made a lot of wrong decisions. He gets a chance to redo his life all over with the knowledge of an old man. So yea I guess he does die in the intro there and he comes back as a young man in Light

IF YALL HAVEN'T DECIPHERED THIS ALBUM YET?!?!?!?!!?!?!? WELL LET ME HELP!!!!!!! The title of this album is called "I Decided". Now at first glance it might seem like he is referring to suggestions in his previous albums such as "Dark Sky Paradise" and or "Detroit" etc. Where as he is explaining how he has come up or made moves and the process in-between etc. However this is not the case with this album it is much deeper than that and it becomes apparent whenever you "Halfway off the balcony" video, as well as hear the "Intro" and "Bigger Than Me" songs you will be able to start connecting the other songs together like "Voices in my Head/Stick to the Plan"., which are all on the album "I Decided". However I am just going to explain the "Halfway off the balcony" video for now and allow you to interpret it for yourself whenever you get a chance to listen to the full album. Well first this video starts off looking like a acid trip all together lol, but besides that at first glance in the video you might think that the old man standing in the middle of the street is his dad. Also, through out the video it might play as if it is his dad and from the lyrics referencing him within the song as well as his mom. However, the old man is in fact Sean himself! But we are not talking about the ego as in Sean, we are talking about his spirit or an easier term we could use would be his past self. This becomes noticeable at @0:30 When Sean himself is standing exactly where the old man was in the same position look up. Then later you see the old man in the house on the phone talking to someone. Based off the "Intro" song that someone could be Death or God where the old man ( Or Sean's past-self) is explaining how he went through life filled of regrets and how he wants a second chance. And This might be the first time the old man (Sean's past-self) had talked to Death being that in the "Intro" song the phone called he had made took place in a different scenery as you can tell from the background noises once you've listened to it. And the way he is nodding his head through the conversation suggest that he is making a deal with Death or God to full-fill this empty void he has been missing his life. Now this is where it gets like Twilight. At @1:25 some random guy (Death or a Form of God) rolls up to Sean with a phone and he takes it and answers it. Which probably had someone or something on the other line tell him to go to a certain telephone both and wait for a call. So Sean is there and he answers the call from the old man (Sean's past self) and then they start conversing. And this conversation could have went in ANY direction, but I'm sure it goes along the lines of Hey this is you from the future or hey this is you from another dimension or hey this is you from a past life, explaining all his regrets or mistakes he wants our Sean on the other line to fix or correct. Or he could be giving him advice and guidance in order to "Decide" how to accomplish success in life. OR based off the lyrics of the song and the timing of the video where he is in the telephone booth our Sean himself (the next life) could be talking to the old man (his past life) letting him know that he did it on the second chance that he is successful with no regrets thus far and that it is okay to die now because you're next life (Sean's current life) will be everything you've dreamed of. Then they hang up and I think thats where the "Intro" comes in? I'm not sure, but the phone part makes sense after hearing "Bigger than me" towards the end when he finally answers his mom's call and the conversation they had. Saying that towards then end of this video when his mom was calling and he says i'll call her back it is because the old man (Sean's past self) is calling him to give him more info about the future or to ask him question etc. And this also helps with explaining the title of this album "I decided" not just I decided to take 2017 more seriously (as most people perceives it) and I'm going to make moves like never before. It also means (in a deeper meaning) that he decided to go through life again to become something of worth to himself and to God or whoever and enjoy the experience to his journey. That will make more sense once you hear the full album. However this is just MY PERSPECTIVE on things. You can take it or leave it. I just thought it was interesting and based off Sean's spiritual sense I have a hunch this is the deeper meaning behind his album. Also the person on the phone could be Death, God, an Angel, His Consciousness or the Devil I do not know, but I do know that it could be a paranormal entity that is allowing Sean's past self or alternate self to communicate with our Sean through a telephone booth. So don't hate on me. Tell me what you think? Just try watching the video again after reading this with that mindset of it being himself as the old man etc.

Devin Mallery The calling his former self thing and that flowing into the intro kinda don't make sense because the intro is obv the beginning of the album, but idk. everything else made sense from what you said

At 4:20 The flow is similar to drake's 2nd verse in '6 man' that goes like "Young but I'm gettin' every single motherfuckin' thing I'm owed.. You gotta know.. I'm here to fuck with nigga's souls, my heart is cold It's prolly cause I'm from the snow, with all my woes I know they wanna see me go, I'm on a roll I mean I'm back on this again, I'm here again You know the truth, let's not pretend, I'm not your friend Not your guy, I'm not your buddy, show no lovin' I might go DeMarcus Cousins out in public Man, I'm back on this again, I'm here again I didn't do this fuckin' tape for CNN." Both songs are nearly identical only in that specific part of Big Sean's song tho.
