In the 70s I lived in deer field and we used to go to the Boca inlet on full moon nights and hang a light over the boat and net shrimp we make a good amount of money but it was just a fun thing to do most of the time we just ate the ones that we caught; south carolina shrimp look good that y'all caught I've had the shrimp burger but the guy that made it for me put it over grits and he made a scampi butter to top the shrimp burger with it was good and then we put them on some Publix whole wheat hamburger buns with avocado lettuce tomato and that scampi butter . Always good out of Moore's Landing. Bulls Bay has great Oysters too. It's easier to empty your net directly into a round wash tub, and then at the end of the 10 pole run, transfer them all into the cooler at once instead of chasing everything around the deck after each throw.

Cast netting by baiting n them orange pole is a marker I see. Very interesting. I'm a Gulf of Mexico shrimper but we used big nets with weights the size of your car looking like two wooden doors. Drop n drive. One haul can yield 12 buckets of shrimps in all sizes. Commerical fisherman we are by trade during open season. We also do tuna as well. Doing it for a living is different than doing it for fun.

Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. There is no comparison between store bought shrimp and gulf shrimp. Gulf shrimp are so sweet. Hy - Vee grocery stores in my area sell the large ones.
