This is why you have good fishing buddies. Go out and have a fun time ragging on each other and by the end of day. Everyone jumps in and help out with the cleaning and cooking.

That is hard work throwing that net only to get a few shrimps at a time. This helps me to understand how hard folks work to get the foods we like and not complain about the prices so much.

In the 70s I lived in deer field and we used to go to the Boca inlet on full moon nights and hang a light over the boat and net shrimp we make a good amount of money but it was just a fun thing to do most of the time we just ate the ones that we caught; south carolina shrimp look good that y'all caught I've had the shrimp burger but the guy that made it for me put it over grits and he made a scampi butter to top the shrimp burger with it was good and then we put them on some Publix whole wheat hamburger buns with avocado lettuce tomato and that scampi butter . Stay safe stay strong stay healthy God bless and enjoy life🍤🍤🍤🍺🍺👈✌💖💪👨‍🍳🎅🚌👍

@@johnbowhunter7676 wow sorry to hear that I moved to Georgia in 1984 but in the 70s and early 80s up in Boca inlet we used to catch a lot of shrimp but I guess times have changed I used to live across the street from Deerfield Beach high when I lived in Florida in the 70s. I also lived on the intercoastal by Cypress Plaza the Yacht Club apartments I think was the name and we would fish in that canal there is always tarping in there.

Always good out of Moore's Landing. Bulls Bay has great Oysters too. It's easier to empty your net directly into a round wash tub, and then at the end of the 10 pole run, transfer them all into the cooler at once instead of chasing everything around the deck after each throw.

Very interesting, especially because of the very shallow depths where they are fishing. When I go after shrimp in the PNW and British Columbia I'm at 150' to 400' and have to pull up the weighted traps with a winch.I'm also jealous, 'cause I never have a fun crew like that to fish with. Darn.

Back in the 80's we used bags of Alpo dog food for chum. Cut a few holes and put a half brick in the bag. tossed em from the bank at high tide at cosgrove bridge. cast netting we filled a big ass cooler with bay shrimp every time. That and a six pack was good times.

Cast netting by baiting n them orange pole is a marker I see. Very interesting. I'm a Gulf of Mexico shrimper but we used big nets with weights the size of your car looking like two wooden doors. Drop n drive. One haul can yield 12 buckets of shrimps in all sizes. Commerical fisherman we are by trade during open season. We also do tuna as well. Doing it for a living is different than doing it for fun.

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

People that have never eaten gulf shrimp don't know what good shrimp are. Store bought shrimp where I live are usually farm raised in a different country. There is no comparison between store bought shrimp and gulf shrimp. Gulf shrimp are so sweet. Hy - Vee grocery stores in my area sell the large ones. I make them on a grill wrapped in bacon and basted with butter. They are absolutely fantastic!
