The bass have been on fire in that area. Me and KB went Sunday afternoon and they are still stacked up. Nothing big, but I was glad to see a new crop.

Jar, just wanting to know, do you fish saltwater jerk baits or do you use the freshwater jerk baits
@Jar_Fishing Жыл бұрын
The only difference I see in the saltwater version is the hooks are “saltwater” hooks but they rust anyway. I actually take off the factory trebles and put Gamakatsu hooks on anyway. The other difference in the xrap freshwater version is it has a little feather trailer thing but it can be removed if you don’t want it. What I’m saying is I would use either one.

Just curious do you keep any fish do you eat any fish or you just like catching them you don't like the taste of speckled trout flounder redfish Bass even though they think bass is just a sport fish they taste pretty good
@Jar_Fishing2 жыл бұрын
Fish is one of my favorite things to eat. I did a catch and cook video a little while back. I don’t like to freeze fish so I just keep what we will eat fresh and what I want to give to people that don’t get to fish. But, I also love the sport of fishing so I do a lot of catch and release. Thanks for watching!

Fine job! Putting in the work on a less than stellar weather day paid off. Those were some beautiful trout!

Hey brother I just picked up my 1860 Grizzly and was wondering if it would be worth it to come down to Bienvenue/Hopedale area the first week in January or will it be too cold to catch trout, flounder or hell anything?
@Jar_Fishing Жыл бұрын
Congrats on the boat! Of course every day is different, but in general, Hopedale and Bienvenue are great in January. I usually catch my biggest trout of the year around this time. If the trout aren’t biting on any particular day, there are usually Bass or Redfish willing to oblige.

Do you use floating, sinking, suspending or try all three jerk baits when fishing like this for specks to see what they are doing?
@Jar_Fishing Жыл бұрын
@@youroutdoors5453 I use mostly suspending, but I change the hooks out and give it a very small amount of sink. That seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Incredible day again and great video and catches!! Some BIG, fat trout. Well done my man! And then the crazy bass bite in the marsh. Would never make a trip out there without hitting that! Good luck ahead and look forward to seeing your next one!

How do you like that Tracker boat? I've been thinking about getting one of those for a while.
@Jar_Fishing2 жыл бұрын
Love it. Pretty durable
@NOturtle2 жыл бұрын
The increased wind was the reason your bite picked up pushing bait into the rocks and concentrating the fish IMO.

It looks like that twitch bait is connected with a snap swivel? Bite is just as good as direct tie on?
@Jar_Fishing2 жыл бұрын
I do use a small swivel. It lets the bait move a little more freely, but it also adds a slight bit of weight to help the lure sink a bit more on the pause. I feel like it doesn’t cost me bites, but I could be wrong.
@karlrockvoan15872 жыл бұрын
@@Jar_Fishing I always use a loop knot , on my hard plastic baits, using a 30 inch mono leader on my braid , gives it plenty of action , have you ever tried a wake bait cranking , I’ve caught some very nice trout & reds using one along shoreline rocks
@Jar_Fishing2 жыл бұрын
@@karlrockvoan1587 Never thrown a wake bait at them. I bet they crush it if you catch them in the right mood.

I've hit the rocks 4 times last two weeks. Can't get a bite I guess I just need to figure out our far down to run and which streches to hit. Glad you getting on
@Jar_Fishing2 жыл бұрын
It can be hit or miss for sure. When they bite, it’s usually big hammers and worth the grind. Thanks for watching
