​@@flatsclasschartersthey are a completely different animal than Shimano. From the tighter cast control knob to having to use a less aggressive casting style. Most people will not give SV a true chance. KZbin video of SV's inventor casting straight up into the sky with no thumb is full of his advise on how to take full advantage of SV.

Hey Capt, I want to thank you for changing my paradigm when it comes to rod choices for artificial lures. Up until I started watching your videos my rule was to only use fast or extra fast action rods for lures and my moderate action rods only for live bait. But you’ve given me an appreciation for using my moderate action rods for lures in a lot of different applications

Caught 50 Trout last week using a 5 Inch z man no Dinks, none smaller than 18 and the biggest was a 26 incher . I was using 5/6 inch Z man paddle tails on a Snakez locks. Yes big baits work even is 49-51 degree water temps

Hey CA, Is there any chance you can do a video about big trout locations for this time of year and moving into the early spring? I fish the st.johns river and mayport. I’d love to hear you thoughts on what salinity they prefer this time of year and fishing rocks and heavy structures around the main river vs creeks and creek mouths for targeting trout in mid to upper 20s

Interesting to me, and it makes sense.. but I consistently catch my biggest trout (including my PB) on one of my smallest lures, a Yo-Zuri 3DS minnow. Might just be my location.

Where I fish there is floating grass, unfortunately non-native, even in the winter with little to no tide to flush it out. As a result Hard baits are difficult. I’ve changed to inline single hooks but still a problem and have to use weed less paddle tails. I know they will hit hard baits but wonder if there is any way to make the hard baits more weed resistant.

I dont bother going out now...its a waste of time not having a boat this is my problem. I lnly fish from shore and the water quality here stinks in Fort Myers. I know jaded but maybe your videos will help. Ive done everything.

​@@erockscott1184 I've been fishing from a kayak for almost 20 years - they are a lot more stable than you think. I have not capsized one yet (knock on wood). Try a kayak charter and see what you think. Charter guy likely to have decent boats...

What size and manufacturer are the treble hooks on the modified XL MirrOdine? Are Mustad 2/0 treble 3x strong, light enough?

I use lighter hooks like the BKK Spear EWG, more like 1X size #4
