I just found out recently, and it's a gamechanger if you want to get through the higher cups. There is an official name that escapes me, but the condition is: after a boost pad or boost item. User input: Tap (do not hold) the drift button, hold a desired direction, then release. Effect: Enables hairpin turn into a boost. This much more effective than e-breaking if you know you do not have enough runway to build up a regular drift boost. Edit: I had forgotten to mention the directional input.

​@@lambasted6886 It's called a sliptide, and yeah you can go stupid fast with it

@@lambasted6886 specifically you have to tap drift while turning inward. so if you start drifting to the right you have to keep holding right to get the sliptide. you can also sliptide out of a full drift if you let go of the button while still turning inward. not as generally useful but can help with some niche spots if you get creative :)
