BIG THICK BOOKS (that i have been afraid to read)

I get it. I am reading 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I’ve never read from him. Not sure it is a me book 😂. I am reading one chapter a day. Just gonna take my time with it.

Donna Tartt is a fantastic writer, but I appreciated "The Secret History" more than I liked it. I'm probably the only person who liked "The Goldfinch" better. So far, the longest book I've read in January was "The Risk Pool" by Richard Russo, which I enjoyed quite a bit. "Empire Falls" is on my TBR for later this year.

My friend told me she loved the Goldfinch and DNF'd The Secret History so you are not alone :) I seriously think I'm heading toward appreciating over liking. My longest read ever is The Mists of Avalon and I think I've read it 4 times. But that was with my late teens early twenties brain. This 41 year old could never lol Good luck with Empire Falls! I know my dad read it when it came out and enjoyed it.
