Yeah, I've been working on it for 40 years! It has been the subject of many modifications.

I bet that car is a blast to drive. Best wishes.

It is fun to drive. Might be more fun with a four or five speed automatic transmission but maybe I'm just getting old!

Hello Andy, I am a huge fan of this Coronet and all of the Technical articles , and the book that you have written on Big Block Mopars. Thank you, for being willing to publish all of the data from your research ! I am trying to build a 1969 Dodge , Super Bee with a 440/ 727 automatic. I am trying to do this on a budget and all of you published dyno testing has been instrumental for my build. Thank you, William.

Thanks William. I appreciate the kind words. I enjoy sharing what I learn with others. I've been fortunate to work on some great projects and I like to help others with their projects.

@@andyfinkbeiner To Andy F., My desire with the 69 Super Bee is, to keep most of the factory appearance but, to enhance the performance to make the car fun to drive. In my teens my friend and myself raced a 69 cuda fastback, at Bandimere speedway in Colorado. This kind of car is too much for me at this point in my life (4.88 gears, spool, Dominator, 8 inch converter, fender well headers , ect ). But I am thinking that a set of Trickflow 240 heads may, almost equal the engine horsepower in a much more streetable engine package . I all honesty this is just a street car that will be driven sometimes just to get a cheeseburger and Chocolate malt. Since we live in a world that has Factory Subaru WRX or the STI specs are 155 mph and 174 mph.

Your engine builds help bring respectable performance into the classic mopar muscle cars. Other wise , the younger generation car buffs might dismiss our claims of " Muscle Cars" because a stock Subaru WRX can out run the hottest 440 Six Pack , 4 speed, car from 1969 out on the freeway. Thanks, Will.

A pump gas 505 big block with TF240 heads and the correct camshaft will make 600/600 and be friendly enough for a daily driver. You have to use the correct combination of parts but when you do you'll be amazed at how well it works.@@williamturner8422

@@andyfinkbeiner I have already decided that the 4.25 stroke crankshaft would be best to look relatively stock but provide the power at street friendly R.P.M. levels . External oil lines , would take away from the "old school" vibe that I want this car to have. I am not running Cal Track bars, for the same reason. One interesting body modification is going to be a 69 Dodge Charger fuel Fill Cap in the 69 Charger location. Pretty scary kneeling behind the lisence plate with a distracted ,driver headed straight at me. So the Charger fill location solves this problem with period correct Factory parts. I am not looking to squeeze all the power that I can out of this combo and I don't want piston slap from short skirted pistons. So I am not totally sure about 7.1 length conn. Rods. Currently 440 Source is backordered on 4.25 stroke kits.

I'm thinking you must have moved the springs over to fit these as well...

Yes, the springs are moved into the frame on the '65 Coronet
