I am highly impressed. It is so good to watch moldboard ploughing in action. I love both the tractors and the plows. I only wish that the tractors can 'roll a little coal.' Yes I am old school. I would not have known about the vast farming areas of your New York state if not for your videos. Looking forward to your future videos. Thanks for showing. Yours truly, Brian from London Ontario.

Thanks for the nice comment! I agree it makes plowing even cooler when there’s some black smoke! 😁

A properly tuned diesel engine will not below out black smoke unless it's over loaded. That would be hard on the engine, the transmission and the final drives.

In europe, 90% of ploughs are turn over, furrows top and bottom. this is a poor way to plough, plough in the front hits a rock, or a breakage, when he stops, tractor behind also has to stop, niether plough is set up the same, residue isnt getting buried as it should be.

@@tractorchasers😂. I will say also, those salfords do a beautiful job rolling ground under. Back when we had bought our Kverneland, that we ended up not liking, I wished we had looked at the Salford.

In 25 years l never plow my land, you loose all the micro nutrients in the air, that is good for you soil, and l have wonderful harvest every year, that is the reason farmers they fill there land with químicos and replaced fertilizer that contaminated the soil and water and people getting sick of that, they should stop that.

Looks nice and sandy the full length of the furrow, sand plows nice and straight;) when we plowed around here the ground varied from sand to gumbo in the same pass, crooked furrows were common.

Unusual to see moldboard plowing today - most farms are practicing some type of conservation tillage. - Doug in Iowa 🚜🌽🥩🇺🇸

Yea I was excited to find it! This local area has several farms that moldboard plow. I think it has to do with the soil types in that area and the unique climate of the Finger Lakes region of NY. Don’t see much plowing in other areas other than organic farms.

Would like to know the cost of those wide tires. 😮 And , where in NY?
@tractorchasersКүн бұрын
That is a great question. I’m not sure on the cost but they are usually used instead of tracks. They’re much less expensive than a tracked machine and give similar flotation. This farm is in the Finger Lakes region of NY.

@oscaracme open up your ears I'm tryna tell you something,those fat tires make to much compaction what part of that don't you understand skippy?
@Oldschoolrules123Күн бұрын
@@Sarah-j8c5g Hi cupcake, obviously you don't know anything about flotation. Those wide tires have less compaction than if the tractor was using duels. PS. I grew up on a farm and retired from running heavy equipment.
@michaellohmeyer1433Күн бұрын
@@Sarah-j8c5g Fat tires REDUCE compaction. More square inches of tires in contact with soil equals less pounds per square inch. (PSI = compaction.)
