Big Train Tours: Happy 140th Birthday Locomotive No. 346!

This season we are celebrating Denver & Rio Grande Western Steam Locomotive No. 346's 140th birthday with a in-depth look back at the fascinating history of Colorado's oldest operating locomotive!

346 will always be my favorite locomotive. As a museum volunteer in 1994 and 1995 I got to work on and operate the locomotive. I hope the current work will keep her operating for many more years.

Nicely done! 346 was the first locomotive I had the opportunity to both work on and operate, that due to Bob Richardson and Dick Cooper. It is rewarding to see that this locomotive is being maintained and operated by volunteers and a museum that continues in historical preservation and dynamic operation.
