Speaking of hummingbirds, your gardens may become part of the migration path that hummingbirds select naturally because you have a diversity of plantings and multi-season interest for the humans, but also food for the hummingbirds on their long trek to Central and South America. There may be some truth to build it and they will come. So delighted to start my day with your videos with pleasure and calm, informative, and logical garden experiences. You're the best!

@laraemitchell9064 we had a group of horse chestnut trees in a local park where I grew up. The park couldn't be used when the chestnuts fell. Boy those thing were prickly, beautiful tree though.
@laraemitchell9064Ай бұрын
@@joannecraft9842 I agree they can be a mess in places where activities are impacted. But Laura and Aaron have all the areas around the dirt lands where they have trees around the perimeter. They could probably used the chestnuts in craft projects. I grew up with a horse chestnut tree and it didn’t pose a problem in that way. It was on the edge of the property.

Laura, you are the most interesting combination of OCD and “Whatever” that I’ve ever seen. You are wonderfully relaxed and at ease with some things and a total attention to detail person on others- like “ maybe we can take a few little leaves and sticks off that tree so it EXACTLY matches the other.” I don’t mean this as negative at all. You brighten my life daily and I’m devoted to your channel. Thank you for being here.

The Jayker trees are stunning. I can hardly wait to see them planted, especially when you begin landscaping the Dream Stream. Laura, you may not realize it, but you just installed the greatest hummingbird magnet of them all - a big fountain!. We have lots of hummers in the low desert, the Sonoran Desert. We installed a small fountain years ago, and the little hummers immediately moved in, buzzing the fountain all day long. With binoculars on a sunlit afternoon, we became aware of teeny, tiny droplets of water, a little distant from the large, conspicuous flow and drops of water. It was the misty, micro drops that the hummers loved to fly through, especially on hot days. Grad some binoculars and perch on your pretty benches. Observe for the misty, tiny droplets. You may have to try different benches to find the best angle, perhaps even try different times of the day for sunshine lighting up the droplets. Regardless, enjoy the hummers arguing over who will control the misty territory. And you're right; next year you will see itty-bitty nests with jelly bean-sized babies, usually two in number. They will grow quickly and fledge in barely two weeks. You have a full-service hummingbird resort. Benjamin and Samantha will be charmed. A trip to the children's library section to search out hummingbird books is in order. Let the bird-watching begin!

Laura and Aaron, you, your family and the people you have surrounded yourselves with are without a doubt just as beautiful as your gardens. You inspire myself and many others to garden beyond what we ever thought we could and choose friends and coworkers to be much like our gardens. To have great perennials, the people who are reliably there for us, annuals, those who shine for a short while in our lives and to let go of, pull, the weeds who take the nutrients from ourselves and family. May you continually be blessed as you so easily share those blessings with us.
