Big Trouble in Little China (also known as John Carpenter's Big Trouble in Little China) is a 1986 American fantasy action-comedy film co-scored and directed by John Carpenter, and starring Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun and James Hong. The film tells the story of truck driver Jack Burton (Russell), who helps his friend Wang Chi (Dun) rescue Wang's green-eyed fiancée from bandits in San Francisco's Chinatown. They go into the mysterious underworld beneath Chinatown, where they face an ancient sorcerer named David Lo Pan (Hong), who requires a woman with green eyes to marry him in order to be released from a centuries-old curse.

It is "280" in Northern California not "the 280". When I drive down to LA I take "5" and then it turns into "the 5" around Bakersfield. Hahahahaha

My old man had just started working on LA LAW at Fox when they were making BTILC. He took me to work one day, and I got to check out sets for BTILC, including the big one with the giant skull and six armed demon. It was on stage 17, which is also where Jon-Erik Hexum from the TV show Voyagers! shot and killed himself with a prop gun.

I remember, being in Florida, in 1984. I’m 53 now. I remember wanting something that I could remember Florida by. I couldn’t think of anything else but music, so I asked my dad if he would buy me “Shout at the Devil” by “Motley Crue”. They had just released that album and it was cool, because the Canadian cassette tape was black and this tape was in a white housing with black lettering, which made it “untra-cool”. Florida, Pace Mountain and “River Country” were my favorite places there. I remember driving down the roads, that looked like country roads back then, stopping at awesome little shops along the way, it was awesome. So much has been built up in Florida, I wouldn’t know it today. “Motley Crue” was my favorite memory, and a great looking “Christie Brinkley” look-alike at the “Dolphins Beach resort” in 1984. She was amazing, had a striped blue and white bikini, long beautiful dirty blonde hair that was highlighted by the sun, she was amazing. I miss the Dolphin fountain that I see has been removed from the “Dolphin Beach Resort” in St Petersburg Florida. It was so cool in 1984. And “Van Halen” rocked the planet.😊😊😊🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

That section of 280 you are talking about -- which was called The Embarcadero Freeway -- that is no longer there was torn down in the early 90s after suffering some structural damage from the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake after a long dispute regarding whether the freeway should be repaired and retrofitted, or removed altogether. Fun fact; That freeway was also used towards the end of the second Dirty Harry film, Magnum Force when Briggs has Callahan at gunpoint, and is making Callahan drive them to the shipyards where the final showdown happens. And that scene, which was supposed to be the "Dogpatch" area of Hunters Point, was actually filmed up in San Rafael.

FYI, though a portion of 280 was demolished after the 1989 earthquake, the scene where Jack is cut-off by the Puma truck is the same location you had just showed. That's the Mariposa exit on the right of that scene. So, YOU GOT IT!

Hi. Regarding the packing plant. there is a building in the back of the scene you show that still exists. Visible from Alameda st. Looking toward Channing. The white warehouse has a roof exit with a pipe . Same one as in the back of the scene
