Lots of detail here appreciate it. Even though my car has stiff aftermarket "street" motor mounts, I dont think I could reliably run a connection like this without causing a failure. A good bead roll on the end of the pipe, like I noticed you fabricated on the ends of the custom water pipe in this video, has never failed me with a quality silcone flexible coupler, but these cars probably see way north of my 2 bar setup

Hello, thanks. I'm all for bead rolling as every aluminum pipe (outside of something like this particular build) typically gets rolled here in house and paired with a silicone coupler. These HD clamps are for "minimal" engine movement. When there are 2 joints in one pipe (such as the coldside pipe here) you can still slightly wiggle the pipe when clamped together. That wiggle allows for motor movement without "straining" the pipe joints.

Actually, rotaries typically run less boost than a piston engine would for a similar sized turbo, point still remains teh same tho

Nice work my guy! I came across this video because I just installed a couple race part solution duel seal clamps in my Turbo kit and it seemed extremely sloppy. so I wanted to see how sloppy they was supposed to be.

They allow movement...quite a bit of movement if using more than 2 assemblies at a time

Hey man, I’m currently doing fab work on an Fd with a 20b. You’ve given me a lot of ideas for the turbo kit. Thanks for sharing! Check it out at 🍿 Popcorn Fab in FB.

Not diameter but how wide. From one end of the clamp to the other end of the clamp when the 2 pieces are matted up

Kinda weird, if the owner was that particular , why not go with a V-Mount for the FD ?
@GOAUTOWORKSYOUTUBE3 жыл бұрын
They specifically wanted the car to have a front mount
@avanjob2053 жыл бұрын
@@GOAUTOWORKSKZbin Wow that is kinda strange but then again, i ain't the one paying for it :D
@GOAUTOWORKSYOUTUBE3 жыл бұрын
@@avanjob205 I like and have done both versions on the FD (would say I like the Vmount more by a slim margin, even though it is probably more work when it's all said and done). To each their own...I just try to accommodate and make the vision a reality for each client.
@avanjob2053 жыл бұрын
@@GOAUTOWORKSKZbin Yeah, i have to agree with you . Piping working for a v-mount is more difficult but it does give good airflow to both the intercooler and radiator/condenser. Judging by those welds, I am sure your customer will be happy with the set-up.

They don’t cool the intake charge as well as a front mount. Main reason people went. Vmount was do to shitty core design back in the day that hindered air flow to the rad. With the new much more efficient cores you can run a front mount on an FD without causing cooling issues. I can do a pro solo with 6 runs back to back and my coolant temps don’t get about 190degs .
