I use the t2 reactor, I love it. You can shut off the recirc pump and let the air bled out of the reactor via the effluent line once your pH is stable, then plug the pump back in. I do this when I do maintenence and the feed pump pumps air in instead of water. Great reactor and the sicce pump is dead silent.
@joeb19062 жыл бұрын
how are you liking the pump still ?
@eatsleepreef95655 жыл бұрын
Highly recommend removing the whole pre filter. This will greatly affect the way the reactor runs. With it left on it can be inconsistent over time as it gets blocked with stuff. Also if using the carbon doser I also recommend removing the bubble counter on it as well.
@RealReefingTV5 жыл бұрын
Why remove the bubble counter? I know it's not necessary but what's it hurting?
@DiepBlueC4 жыл бұрын
Why remove bubble counter?? I can see removing pre-filter to limit maintenance, but if you draw water from a calm area of the sump without a ton of sediment, it should last 6-12 months (similar to your media) and be easy to replace. Then again, if you are drawing from a clean area of the sump, maybe you dont need the pre-filter in the first place. But yeah, I'd leave the bubble counter, good for troubleshooting

Do you still have the calcium reactor any issues with think of ordering one today for a 300 gallon sps

How do you like the calcium reactor now that you have been using it for awhile? I'm looking to get this one for some growout tanks I'm setting up soon.
@RealReefingTV3 жыл бұрын
Not a fan of it, it never stopped cycling the air bubbles and would periodically stop pumping because of the air build up. Switched to the reef octo varios reactor about 3-4 months ago and have really been liking it.

Hey there , I just set up my aquamaxx calcium Reactor yesterday . Right now the Ph inside the reactor is at 7.9 ph. I want to know How many days or weeks does it take for the ph to Lower down to 6.8 . The afluent is at 40 ml Per minute and 2 bubble per second on a carbon doser.
@RealReefingTV4 жыл бұрын
It should drop pretty quick. Either increase co2 or slow the effluent. I vote to slow the effluent and if you get it to the right spot PH wise and your calc and ALK are still low or declining, you can then increase both PH and effluent to get the desired result

Great video, thanks! Just wondering if you have an update after running it for months, Thoughts? Have you topped off the media yet? is it a pain to do that? i'm comparing it to the Korralin as well, i hate my Korallin, love the results, but i absolutely dread refilling it.
@RealReefingTV4 жыл бұрын
The only thing I hate about this reactor is the air that fills the chamber and continues to cycle through... Makes the reactor loud in my opinion.i have not refilled the media yet lol so that's really nice. And it's not difficult to do since the top is so large.

@@RealReefingTV thanks for the reply, i subscribed to your channel to follow along. I'm not too concerned with noise, i have my wave-makers pretty near blowing water out of my tanks so they're LOUD! lol. I'm after performance and ease of use. everything else is just a bonus. Cheers!

I had the same issue with that cal reactor and it was loud due to the air so I had to return it. I hope it works out better for you.

What are you using for substrate in your refugium?
@dbbfishing25285 жыл бұрын
I've tried that calcium reactor and the sulfur reactor both are impossible to get all the air out of them and they make a ton of noise. I went to a reef octopus calcium chloride and I've been very happy with it. No noise and held a lot more media. Post a another review if you can get the air out of it I tried for six weeks tried calling and emailing customer service but they weren't any help at least marine Depot tried to help and they took them back.
@RealReefingTV5 жыл бұрын
Mine isn't noisy but the air does remain... Seems to just get to a point where it stabilizes. If it holds, im good.

Did you ever get the air bubbles out? I’m running the c2 with secondary chamber with triton media fighting the bubbles though since ph has to be so low thus pushing more co2 into the unit
@RealReefingTV4 жыл бұрын
No it still runs bubbles through.. I'm going to make some modifications I think
@kenyan612444 жыл бұрын
RealReefingTV I just took the triton media out n put 2 little fishies in. I’m using the triton on my other tank with the dastaco. I got the bubbles out by running a higher ph with a higher effluent rate seems to work better when u you less co2 n have a faster rate

I literally just typed the same exact comment stating to remove it. If you like stable alk I would for sure toss that part out. If not you will notice alk start to drop when it starts backing up. You gotta figure if none of the other reactors use a pre filter there is no reason for one
