This is a great idea. I have a CGR30 in my C182M and intermittent sensors are a chronic problem. I liked the concept of the older EI OLCs but they have had their issues. Each annual and some oil changes I double check them. I'm going to check and see if a DB style standard density pin will fit in the one I have, otherwise, I'll seriously consider replacing all of them. By the way, I looked at how you designed your panel on the other video. I did something very similar using the Cessna Parts Manual drawing as a basis for determining the fit. The drawings in the parts manual are actually to scale once you correct the aspect ratio which I did by direct measurement. The CAD system I used was FreeCAD which I liked better than the EAA's Solidworks offering. It produced .STL files which drove the laser cutter to directly cut 0.090 6061-T6 AL used to support the Dynon Skyview HDX system now in the airplane. I'm also going to go with your dual shunt system to monitor battery and alternator flow since I have two shunts in on the bench right now. That is a great idea. Your means of setting up a secondary breaker panel is just what I've been looking for, too. I took out 27# of wire with my install, and there's more cleanup to do. I haven't touched the main switch panel, but I like the breakers you used and the switches are intriguing. Very nice Job.

Thanks for the great comment. Luckily I've never had much of any issues with the EI connectors but I have broken a few strands by over torquing the set screws. This new system is amazing and while a direct solder connection is ideal, I like how this allows for quickly removing the item/connection if need be. For as many of them as I have installed, I've had zero issues but wanted to try the ferrules out, so I did it on my fuel flow sensor first as it was easiest to access. Thanks for watching the other videos too!

My EI 30Combo install came out of the shop about a month ago, with the old connectors. EGT #3 stopped working, so I'm definitely going to go through with these new connectors. What is that crimper you are using?

If you order the kit from EI it comes with the ferrules and connectors. Just give them a call, it’s not expensive.
