Thanks for the info Hank, I’ve just in the last year started throwing big swim baits. I’ve been throwing the Daingerous swimmer. Just got the 6th sense Hangover to try out. It’s a line through top hook.

Thanks Hank for the nudge. I have a rainbow hoodie and. Couple others. I will give them a try in the near future. It’s not a confidence bait of mine but Mabey this will get me over the 5 lb hump. Lol. Excluding Striper. 💯 %watchsquad.

What is your opinion on paddle tail vs wedge tail swim baits
@BassGeek11 ай бұрын
Every thing is situational. I know that’s not a great answer but it’s true. The wedge is wide but natural movement. The boot has a little more wide kick but based on the bait softness and speed of retrieve that can depend on when and how to use it

The huddleston 68 is the 6 inch bait with the 8 inch baits tail. I guess pros used to cut off the tails of the 8 inch and glue them to a 6 inch bait, so huddleston just started making them that way

Yeah I like that old 68special. It's sweet in the winter. Slow as you want to go with it.

Savage gear makes really awesome big soft swimbaits. Their price point is great too.

I have the 7 and 8 inch version is almost every color. The silver trout absolutly works wonders, at least for me. Theyre cheap too!!! 13 dollars!!!!

TIP: Take advantage of gift certificate discounts! Copperstate Tackle had 20% off gift certificate sale not long ago, and I bought a couple 68 Huddies with 10% first timer discount. OH YEAH! P.S. I'm injecting a batch of silicone stick worms as I type this, just for you Hank! the flukes are already done and I'm going to try to pour some 5 inch Angling Ai 5G swimbaits in a better formula of platinum silicone for you too! They'll be in the mail this week!

Older video, but the 8" easy shiner from keitech with a weighted beast hook is a FANTASTIC cold water big soft swimbait...much better for cold water than the bigger wobble of the other keitechs

The only large swimbait I have used is the magdraft. The ones you showed here are definitely big ones. Also about 2 minutes into the video I was cringing because I thought your spot lock was going to grind into the rocks on the bank lol 🎣🔥 #100percentwatchsquad

#100percentwatchsquad I haven't been able to throw big swimbaits a lot this winter because of how windy it's been. Even in the Bass Buggy (my big pontoon boat) I have to stay closer to the bank because I get blown around like a leaf! I'm gonna get you on my Bass Buggy one day, Hank, and we're gonna catch some toads at a private trophy bass lake I fish.

Dip those Hudd tails into boiling water to improve tail movement at truly slow retrieve speeds.
