A lot of boys say wrasse is the pot bait of choice as it stays good for a few days if you can't get back to the pots because of weather. Good to see you improvising though and trying new stuff. Have you ever tried roadkill rabbits / pheasants etc? Some people swear by them for the scent... And it's free! Those scented mock worms are really working well for you mate, awesome to see! Inspirational stuff, fingers crossed for getting out fishing this weekend.

I read that rabbit meat is illegal too use as it turns the lobster poisonous or something...Not 100% sure but I wouldn't take the risk
@trockodile5 жыл бұрын
@@scott2824 This has been mentioned on a number of sites, and was checked out with Environmental Agency agent some time back with no law preventing it found and no evidence of poisoning of the meat (Link here: www.worldseafishing.com/forums/threads/pot-bait.821433/). It's possible this has changed since but it reoccurs as a rumour regularly but I've never seen a link to any law, research or policy. I've even heard of folks who use anything from old burned out egg laying chickens, tinned cat food, sea birds of various types... Basically any old stinky bait they can get hold of by all accounts! If anyone comes across anything official it'd be good to know.

Hi fella. Although I live in Weymouth I've never fished any of the local marks as I'm predominantly a carp/coarse angler. My old man often used to take me sea fishing as a kid though and I haven't been for years. I stumbled upon your films and this one about the wrasse totally motivated my arse out to Portland with your tactics in use. Loads of bites and follows from baby wrasse,but it was low tide so nothing big enough to swallow this sized rig. Cheers mate,you've rekindled my fire for sea fishing! One question as a newcomer,why is that hook called a " weedless" hook please? Many regards and respect from Dorset
@karlstokes8745 жыл бұрын
Cheers for the like. Why's the hook called a weedless one please. Is it because the shank shape prevents weed from snaring the point?
@SMASHFISHING5 жыл бұрын
Karl Stokes yeah pretty much dude 👍
@karlstokes8745 жыл бұрын
@@SMASHFISHING thanks mate. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I now understand about the weedless hook. That's funny because I already did exactly that and hooked it as you showed in your other video,with the point just inside the skin of the ribber ragworm. Keep those videos coming mate. You've got a wicked channel and a new subscriber. Fish safe mate!!! Cheers again
