I've been a VIP for 13 years and they made me a sobbing mess in just 2/3 minutes. I grew with them from a kid to an adult. They got me into kpop and I listened to them at my ups and downs. When and if they make a reunion song in the future you would be able to relate so do not worry that you can't relate. I think one word that can describe this is bittersweet. So it is natural if this is making you sad. For most long time VIPs, we've seen this group go through everything and grow with them too. The MV and lyrics is like a camera roll of memories we have with BIGBANG while at the same time leading us to a new chapter of their lives. This is like an Ode to our Youths. Each of them has a story to tell on their parts but for me, TOP's part is so emotional, symbolic, and just a cathartic release. The way he removed his mask after the lines and while singing "For Life" is like him showing the k-media platforms who censored his face with towers for so long that he is back and he doesnt need to hide his face anymore. For years, people has condemned him for the past issues and even used his good looks as a weapon to attack him to the point he needs to hide his face all the time. I mean they could have comeback with a upbeat song instead of a farewell song, a legendary group like them having a first comeback in a looong while with a goodbye song will bound to give rise to talks about them leaving. BUT my theory is that they are saying goodbye to their past in a sense that that era is over and a new is beginning as a 4 membe group instead of 5 members. Also now being in their 30s and fully adults and stuff. Just a new chapter in their lives. But even Suju made a comeback with all 9 members not long ago and it was also a slow song. Maybe it is just a trend to do slow songs with way tooo mich sentimentel feel. Honestly...if you are right and this is really a forever goodbye I rather had them stay on hiatus forever 😅 It is a bit weird to come back after 4 years just to say bye we are done. 🤷‍♀️ I guess those speculations will kill us... Taeyang's voice lulls me into melancholic mode, GD got me that bittersweet feeling of reminiscence, Dae's singing & grunts, like an anguished & exhausted man that been through life, made me tearing up, TOP few secs of close up eventually made me lost it, b'cause, y'know.. he's been through a lot. Unfortunately this the only song they will be releasing. No promotions nor concerts will happen. In a way its a thank you and goodbye song for the VIPS. If you noticed in the video the chairs represents them….. the four chairs as them now and then the solo chair for Seungri aka the Maknae. Also if you noticed they were not together in the video, in my opinion they kinda are saying they wanna go do their own way. It’s such a sad and emotional thing for many VIPS but as a fan since 2007 I can totally understand since they are at that age where they wanna do their own thing.
