If I remember correctly this song is released in 2007. I think you will like Bigbang's "Loser". Bigbang members write most of their songs and Loser is definitely one of them most genuine songs. Please check out the Eng sub version.

Bigbang were very open about their african american hiphop/RnB 90s influence, GD became inspired to pursue rap after hearing the Wutang clan - especially their earlier stuff is very obviously influenced, theyu were originally styled as a korean b2k LOL. Bigbang really influenced the route kpop took from more poppy to hiphop too. They werent fluent in English or anything at the start, just loved that style, so along the way they made what people now try to cancel them for - ie Cultural aproppriation with wearing dreads etc. . However theyre also lowkey very respected even in the western hiphop scene - with collabs with everyone from Tyga, Bruno Mars, Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, Pharell, Tyler the creator , Will/Jaden Smith etc etc. (GD and Missy elliott have a song together they performed live you may enjoy checking out) .

TY for these details. I can see why some might say the appropriation thing. But when you only consume and don't have a cultural translator it's very easy for that to happen. I look at it as long as the love is genuine we can build from there. I will check that song out with missy.

@@Jurnalist_ Vogue and Chanel ( he is house ambasador for Chanel ) released this week an interviews with GDragon . He talks among other things about how finding WuTang Clan music and rap as a kid awakened something in him. He was in middle school so he was hiding from parents to listen the songs because it was not apropiate for someone so young . He said this experience teach him the power of music to go beyond language barier and still make you feel and understand a message. He knew no english but thise songs he felt it , the music . People accuse cultural apropiation but it was a kid trying to do the things he loved and admired. The entire modern music industry was new in Korea , no one really knew what they were doing .

I love this song . These were the debut years when they were still falowing the concept given by company and also doing the music styles they personaly enjoyed. They were kids trying to be cool but is also the music I grew up with too. I do love how the vocalists get to shine in this song . They grew up into their own style as a group now but when they released this in Korea this was new . Kpop industry is quite new . It basicly started in 1990 . Main vocalist Taeyang is big R&B fan and he never hide his influence

Yo, if you want that early/mid 2000s feel, you gotta listen to Taeyang’s solo music. (He’s the one with the faux hawk going on in this video). Some songs: Wedding Dress, Prayer, Only Look At Me, Where U At, Ma Girl (A Bigbang song that was basically his solo), are some good ones to start. For Bigbang as a whole, a lot of their early work was more hip hop/RnB focused. Would recommend: La La La, Good-Bye Baby, Number 1 (which also has an English version), and Forever With You are pretty good ones to get acquainted with.
