People who stay away from BigBang music because they are not perfect idols are missing out. It has been years of hiatus and hate but they are still the kings and the idols of idols . Someone made a list recently with celebrities who called them their role model and it was several pages long for singers alone , without designers , dancers , actors etc. They got big in the West without any marketing campain . The reason they endure so long despite eveything is because they always put quality music first . It was not about sales , records , fame but chalenged themselves to do new things , not get bored as an artist , explore , evolve , be creative . They have their flaws but they have always been real artists .

You see.... BigBang has that potential to be number one on the US BillBoard Hot 100. It would be a shame if they don't top that chart, as we all can see, their music is just on another level... When you think about uniqueness... you think BigBang, Jay Park, Zion T., Rain, Se7en, Lee Hyori, Sechs Kies... These artists have a strong, and obvious, sense of uniqueness. They deserve to top the Hot 100 chart.

Lol. That is why upon their debut, BIGBANG wasn't the usual kpop Idol that everyone expects them to be. They were kpop idols but with hiphop/rnb roots. Kpop's first rap line came from them. Khiphop rappers hate kpop idols yet they respect BIGBANG. Also, hiphop/rnb genre in kpop was made popular by them, and it got absorbed bcoz of it, hence, hiphop became pretty common now in kpop.

Yeah. I actually think Big Bang (obviously specifically G-Dragon and T.O.P) should be included in some of the most influential rappers in Korean history alongside Seo Taiji, Tiger JK, Yoon Mirae, Verbal Jint, and Epik High. There's other great ones for sure but those names I listed pushed the genre in Korea in ways that most rappers couldn't.

The fact that you said “who was that extra singer” made me had the feels. Big Bang was originally 5 members. Due to some unfortunate things with the law, the youngest member decided to leave the company and band (2019). I hope you get into more of their older songs as well as solo and duos. Literally they are the KINGS of Kpop and its ashame that many kpop fans dont know of this.

This is in my top list of Big Bang songs!! Love this song! There's a certain caliber of swag you have to embody as a Korean in order to pull off cornrows the way Taeyang (or Taemarion as you called him, lol). "Foolish Love" is another early Big Bang song that I like. I don't think there's an MV for it, but it definitely deserves a listen! And a reaction to "We Belong Together" is a classic Big Bang must!

Dok2 said GD invited him to be a member of the Korean version of B2k before BigBang.. It was Dok2, GD and Taeyang but Dok2 kept it hiphop. They changed their style cause Hiphop was dying in Korea and was not profitable at all so GD mixed Hiphop with Electro beats and Haru haru became the hit.
