I’m VIP from Korea. Let me introduce Taeyang brifely. Taeyang is actually the only Korean idol to be recognized and peaked in both dancing and singing as a solo artist. He has a deep understanding of dance and singing. Taeyang has been working as a solo singer since the age of 21 and has always been ranked number one as an idol who can dance well. Several good dancers recognized and praised him. The song where he was particularly recognized for his dancing skills was the song “where u at”. The reason why he was recognized among many K-pop idols who can dance well is the feeling, groove and soul he has. Of course, There are many foreign artists with such a vibe abroad, but Korea is not. Among idols, each has its own specialized dance style and there are many idols with overlapping dance styles. But no idol has the same vibe as Taeyang. So Taeyang was recognized as a more special K-pop dancer. Although He didn’t have not good physical condition as a dancer, rather, it is the factor that makes him great. And 2014 was the year where he swept the Song of the Year Awards for “Eyes, Nose, Lips” and proved his singing skills. In fact, his singing skills improved a lot during this time. I love both his dancing and his singing, he really is something else. For me "Where u at" is the perfect combination of these two characteristics of his, both the voice and the dance are on point, and at the same time very simple from my perspective. I started following him and BIGBANG has been around for a couple of years now, and by the last few works I've noticed that he has abandoned dancing a little and has dedicated himself a lot to the improvement of his singing, I understand, but I would love to see him dancing again, he brings a feeling that no one else does.

If the 2000s, when Taeyang's dance skills peaked, and the 2010s, when he was recognized for his singing skills, overlapped, I think he would have become a more perfect singer among K-pop. the reason why ringa linga feels more different than his usual title tracks is because it was produced and written by GD (and yes that was him in the MV, GD and TY feature in each other mvs a lot). Apparently, GD originally wrote it for himself but then gave it to TY (he wrote songs for TY and other members' solos too but this one u can really feel like it was different than TY usual style and rather more gd's style probably bc it was meant for him at first). Also Taeyang's Wake me up and Darling are great songs as well!

I love Taeyang and i really hope he comes out with more solo music! Taeyang has always been my favourite voice in bigbang and probably in all of kpop i think(I might be wrong😅). Eyes, nose, lips is probably my favourite song of his, it's just so good and you can just feel how heart broken he was. I am very glad that him and his wife found their way back to each other! Min Hyorin is an actress whom GD recommended he cast for his 1AM M/V (2013) (talked about it on a show called "Radio Star") and he instantly fell for her on the set. Believe it or not she's his first-ever girlfriend and his first love (ofc he had crushes and stuff but they were never reciprocated) In his documentary "[白夜 | WHITE NIGHT]" he mentioned the brief time they broke up for was one of the hardest times of his life (this is when he wrote ENL (2014) with her in mind) thankfully she took homeboy back AHAHA maybe it's cause he didn't want to lose her again so before he enlisted for his military service (will be gone for just under 2 years), they got married (2018) and now they have a child (2021). As for Wedding Dress, besides the Korean general public, this song blew up huge among the Asian American community. I still remember how my mates who didn't know BIGBANG all knew Taeyang and got the Mohawk cause of him. Taeyang probably has the most male fan ratio among all the members ahaha that's the thing about BIGBANG, as a group they're powerful but even as soloist they're just as known and have established solo careers which is actually quite rare in the Korean music industry.

For Daesung's solo's just a heads up: pretty much all of his MV's are from Japan (under the name D-Lite) and most are short versions, so make sure to check the full versions or lives. Dae has two sides to him the goofy and the serious singer. So I would recommend something from both sides: Shut Up (MV), Anymore (no mv, live from Japan dome tour 2017), Look At Me Gwisun (MV) and Missing You Now (Live, close-up edit) or あ・ぜ・ちょ！(MV).

For GD I highly recommend 'Untitled, 2014', 'Crooked', 'Crayon', and 'Divina Commedia'. For TOP I recommend 'Doom Dada' and 'Turn It Up'. For Daesung (some songs might be under D-LITE, his Japanese stage name, because he's popular in Japan and some of his songs are in Japanese) I recommend 'D-Day', 'Look at me, Gwisun' and 'Anymore (JAPAN DOME TOUR 2017)'.

Taeyang asked GD for a girl who will appear on his 1 am MV and GD recommended Korean actress Min Hyorin through his friend. Eyes, Nose, Lips - a song Taeyang wrote for his then girlfriend Min Hyorin during the time that they broke up. After this song was released, Taeyang and Min Hyorin got back together. In the MV for "Wedding Dress" Taeyang is friends with both the guy and the girl. How I interpret the story, is that Taeyang is in love with the girl, but unfortunately, she is in love with the other guy. She was always in love with the other guy. In the beginning you see scenes with just Taeyang and the girl because in his memory he is selectively leaving the other guy out of the picture or blocking him out of his version of memories, because he wishes he was the one she loved. But you later see, when you look at the full picture, that the other guy was actually there the whole time. These were times where they were actually hanging out as a group, but Taeyang was imagining himself doing these things without the other guy and it just being the two of them. In the end you see that Taeyang was a fraction of a second too late and he was just about to confess to the girl right before his friend showed up and slipped the ring on her finger. Obviously, these were his best friends because he agreed to play a song at their wedding as a gift to them, even though he was still heartbroken and wishing it was him who she was marrying. Fun fact: "Eyes Nose Lips" is a breakup song wrote by Taeyang, and he actually sang the song to his ex-girlfriend when they broke up. However, it must have had the opposite effect on her, because years later she is now his wife. ;) The billboard picture of the girl that is burning at the end of the MV was the actual picture of his ex-girlfriend, now wife. :D You should hear an English version of "Eyes Nose Lips." It's one of the most covered songs in the industry and there have been several Kpop idols, and singers from all over the world in general, who have covered the song. I recommend checking out Kpop soloist Eric Nam's English cover, kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpylYWCDabWebNE. You really need to see the dance performance version video for "Ringa Linga," kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqCUqmBqor18gpI, with Taeyang and his backup dancers. This will give you a taste of how good of a dancer and performer he is. I'm also not sure if you noticed, but G-Dragon was featured in the song and MV for "Ringa Linga." GD is the guy you see in the car with Taeyang.
