In todays video we explore this $80,000,000 glass mansion by the name of the Evergreen crystal palace. This place was built to be a family Lakehouse for the Plaster family. In 1990 Mr. Plaster built this home completely out of glass, green marble, and brass. It is forsale right now and it comes with 300 acres, a boat dock, helicopter pad, and much more.

Seriously. 80M? Pffffft! Lol....I cannot even imagine how much it would cost to renovate to even look remotely cool. What a waste of space. That kind of space and the money put into building this eyesore had so much potential. Smh.

I used to work in a faction of Dupont. 7 days and 7 nights a month, 12 hours per shift. On the night shifts, once I was a team lead and not directly in a process, my favorite thing to do was wander the office buildings. It's 10/10 true that if you have a clipboard & just say you're looking for a copier no one looks twice.

Maybe it's the late 80's and early 90's dentist/doctors waiting room vibes that give you a sickly feeling of painful memories and the faint smell of anaesthetics. I agree though, a huge log cabin would feel way cozier and suit the area more. The more money you have the less style you seem to possess also.

The reason for all the lavish bedrooms, office space and kitchens is because it wasnt really just a house. But rather an extension of the company itself. Robert Plaster was known for holding rather lavish corporate retreats and events there. Even allowed some of his most trusted employees to work out of there as a sort of vacation. The colors of the place are totally insane and were intended to match the logos of Empire Gas, his business he built from the ground up. The reason for the property's downfall was his failed attempt to turn the grounds into an incorporated community which was against state law, and his death. You guys are very lucky to get to see the inside I have always wondered myself what it looked like. Thanks for the video.

How funny. I worked for Bob Plaster in the early 1980’s in Lebanon, Missouri. Empire Gas was the name of his Company. There were rumors about him in town that made him out to be an undesirable man. I met him at the Company Christmas parties and he was always kind to me. Strange that I stumbled across this video - a blast from the past.

This is a cool video to watch because my dad also built a mansion in the late 80's / early 90's with literally ALL the design cues and themes that are seen in this video (marble, brass, mirrors, white leather, white carpet, statues everywhere, crystal display cases, glass planed light fixtures, everything angular and pointy) but I'm pretty sure he couldn't have spent more than $2m in 90's money on it. So touring this house is like touring my dad's house with everything blown 40 times out of proportion.

I framed houses in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. I helped build some of the largest, most insane and expensive custom homes you'd ever imagine. Many had elevators, some had a pool or tennis court under the house. One house had a bridge to the front door, another had a stone FP in the MBR you could see through to the MB and one had a 10+ person jacuzzi in the basement with a waterfall flowing into it. I could go on and on about all the really awesome homes I've had a hand in building but none come close to this place. I understand from other comments this wasn't built as a residence but as a corporate property. I don't care, it's absolutely awesome. If I owned it I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for sharing such a unique and wonderful place, I really enjoyed watching.

I love the house too, especially the seclusion away from everybody is like you are living in your own paradise, who won't want that? I will only change a few of the decor, but the house itself is livable and beautiful.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't meant to be a family home. Bet there's a secret temple somewhere in the basement.

He owned a gas company and then an investment company which this was part of, by building it this way he could write it off on taxes. Every business owner or professional uses part of their home in this way to get a big tax break average working people don't.

It wasn’t really home and from what I hear cost $6 million to build 30 years ago. Seems awfully low for the price they are selling it for now.

I just watched a video on a mansion called The One . The place you just showed is more livable than The One Mega Mansion . I did feel however that both places would work and function better as Resorts. TY for showing this beautiful place , even though I don’t see it as a Livable HOME . It just doesn’t feel Homey, it has the Resort feel to it .
