Moroccan darija is one of my favourite Arabic dialects. I am Amazigh from Algeria and yes, she was right, history considers Amazigh people as the natives of North Africa and their language is called Tamazight and spoken, beside Arabic, in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and other countries. It's an old beautiful language which has a special alphabet called Tifenagh, of 37 letters. If you ask me, do I need to learn Tamazight? I will say: No, you don't really need to! Since most of Amazigh people speak other languages such as Arabic, french, english... However, I advice you to learn my language, because if you speak Tamazight, you will be able to pronounce some difficult letters (sounds) that exist in different languages. Also it will make you discover the colourful culture of Amazigh people. And finally, learning Tamazight will make Amazigh people love you and respect you.
