That's one of the things I always loved about this game, seeing that moment were they change from "haha you're just a dog on Snow's leash" into "...oh fuck, oh fuck fuck fuck! I picked a fight with THE BIG BAD FUCKING WOLF!! fuckfuckfuckfuck" That last fight, she's so cocky throughout the entire fight, till that last one, n you can just see on her face. She knows she's fucked, even when she pulls out the shard dagger, she's looking at it like "shit...is this even enough? Bigby is trying to not immediately resort to violence anymore but rather talk things out, not letting himself embrace his wolf nature because he wants to be more than he was in the past. We see that the only times he unleashes some of his power is when he's been given no choice. Gren was trying to kill him and wouldn't leave him alone, the Tweedles tried to kill him and Snow, Bloody Mary was trying to kill him... Bigby only gets violent when there's no other option. He could easily rip any of them apart if he wanted to, he is a demigod after all and way stronger than he's depicted here but he purposefully holds back in fear that he'll regress or lose his job as sheriff.

I feel exhausted after watching these fight scenes i really love how instead of seeing Bigby fighting them off with easy he struggles, you can feel him use all his strength in his mid transformations. You can really see how exhausted and bloody bigby is after every fight, he is fighting people in his strength class that are bigger than him and are using there claws while being flung all over the place. And the interactive game play during these fights with the great voice overs, the realistic grunts of pain and exhaustion, is like im the one fighting. At the end of these fight you really experience what bigby experiences.

@George Gebhard He's definitely stronger than he lets on to. He seems to get far more tired as a human than in his other form because he's restraining himself, and his resolve to hold back weakens so his wolf instincts slip and he becomes far more brutal and doesn't talk or make quips of any sort like when he's human. Those details really show off that Bigby is a wolf pretending to be a man and not a simple werewolf.

I'd say it's mostly because most people don't actually know his TRUE heritage. Most likely see him as a simple wolf. They've HEARD of him in stories, but rarely ever actually encountered him. That and the fact that he holds himself back in the human world, so they all think he lost his touch. Little do they know he's basically a demi-god.

@@kin4386 Yeah, definitely. It's like in real life, even if people hear stories about people, they don't really believe it fully until they see it with their own eyes. Bigby is probably the strongest character in the game and, ironically, it's doing the "right thing" that holds him back. If you play a brutal Bigby, people learn what he's capable of and are rightfully afraid of him. I wonder if Season 2 might actually show people he's friends/allies with learning about his father and how powerful Bigby really is? I hope we get to see that so people are less stupidly arrogant pricks to him, especially Snow who treats him like shit and blames him for everything - Bigby is powerful and is owned respect.

Just for clarity: Bigby's wolf form in the comics is not a Hulk situation where he has to learn to control his anger, being originally a wolf he can transform at will giving him complete control and awareness, in fact it could be argued, he becomes a wolf to relieve his stress. The same could almost be said for Beast, his monstrous appearance is based on how Beauty sees him at the moment and even when he's in the middle of transforming he still very much conscious of his actions.

dude that last fight when you shift into Bigby's true form... so fucking satisfying. also is it just me, or was bloody mary is one of the best villains ever? i mean there are a lot of attempts at the sadistic crazy girl trope. this one gets it right. most times she just oozes gangster cool and ennui. but then once in a while her eyes just... light up at the sight of suffering. Yours, or even one of her supposed allies'. You get the sense she didn't shoot you until after you killed Dum because *she wanted to see him die.* And you realize she wasn't lying when she said she enjoys her job. This game was so great in making you feel like Bigby. At every turn, people lie and hide and fight while you just want to know why this one woman had to die. The further in the story, the more tired and angry you get at all those people who *chose* to lie and betray your trust. The people too lost in their own world to realize they could have stopped at any point and told Bigby everything. So when the game gives you a chance to cut loose, to rip apart the lies and liars, you *want* to hurt someone, just like Bigby.
