It probably has to do with how the food is given. tiny pieces of meat, that if their not delicate will just be rolled around, or they'll hurt their teeth on the slab. In the wild theyd tear into a carcass and do what they have to.

They aren't angry or mad. They are simply telling you "this is MY food, back off". It's their natural instinct to protect their food and show dominance over something that belongs to them, because in the wild, that's how you survive. You can't be a push over, or else you die. Believe it or not, humans have the same instincts. We've simply evolved to live in a different world than these animals have. These cats aren't pets, no. But they still have a heart and soul.

Back in the 80's, the Detroit Zoo had Siberian Tigers and they would let you inside the Bldg. close to their cages. One angry Siberian came close to the bars and let out a roar that shook me to my bones. Hard to think of anything more terrifying than a 600 pound+ Siberian mere feet from you indoors let out an intense roar.

Cats aren't supposed to eat any plant matter, because they can't digest that, it just clogs up their intestines. Even kitty grass is only used to help puke out those pesky hairballs.

Your mother feeds them rice?! Cats Are 'obligate carnivores' (i.e meat eaters only) and carbs Will give them diabetes followed by kidney failure and an Early death (Not to mention many expensive trips to the vet in the interim)! Bottom line: Do Not Give them rice or Any carbs, Only meat and protein, IF your Mom wishes to keep Her kitties Happy, & Healthy!!
