Saw the Henry Paul Band in Duluth MN shortly after he left the Outlaws. These days Henry Paul is the frontman for Blackhawk. He also is the frontman for the Outlaws these days. He can open for himself.

Saw the Outlaws opening for Boston in 1977 with Henry part of that lineup. He added a lot. Saw the Outlaws 7 more times over the years, but that show was the best. Him doing Freeborn Man… The 70’s rock bands were so musically talented!

Indeed! Especially the southern bands. With old guitars, tattoos and scars, straight from the heart of Dixie!!

For the edification of everyone who shall see this MTV special, the Henry Paul Band performed these songs after being introduced by Dan Aykroyd: FEEL THE HEAT SO LONG KEEPING OUR LOVE ALIVE RISING STAR IN THE SOUTHERN SKY (Henry Paul sings only) CRAZY EYES HOLLYWOOD PARADISE (Henry Paul sings only) GRAY GHOST KANSAS CITY (Dan Aykroyd was the guest singer and he massacred the song!) GO DOWN ROCKING (Henry Paul sings only) The lineup was--- Henry Paul: electric and acoustic guitars, vocals Billy Crain: lead and rhythm guitars David Fiester: lead and rhythm guitars Tom Capek: keyboards, back vocals Wally Dentz: bass, back vocals, harmonica on “So Long” Bill Hoffman: drums, percussion I prefer to believe that the Henry Paul Band was high on their music. This reviewer only wishes that Dan Aykroyd stayed off the stage instead of massacring the song “Kansas City” and turning the Henry Paul Band into the Blues Brothers Band minus and brass and saxes. Whatever happened to just introducing the main act and getting off the stage? The show was broadcast on MTV, at a time when they had only videos, and it was executive produced by Robert Kardashian (RIP). A souvenir of better times, never to come around again. Enjoy.

Crackle audio, but this video is critical to music history preservation. 49:53 Dan Akroyd ?!?!?! WTF?! Street cred that the Blues Brothers didn't give, he earned here proper.

This was the start of this bands downfall...when Henry started to turn to a bit more commercialised songs, ...not with their 1st two lps,...music wasn't bad, but. ,fans didn't hang...
