I watched this video twice before I did this job. You did such a great job of explaining it that I was able to knock it out in one shot. I didn't have to stop and re-watch in the middle of the job, etc. Very straight forward video. The hardest part (for me) was getting the metal rod inserted into the metal tab on the new actuator, that took about 5 minutes to get that done, you made that look way too easy. Thanks again!

Can’t thank you enough! Great video to follow as it is very methodical. My rear passenger side door lock motor was totally dead but I could see that I had 12 volts going across the connector when I hit the lock button. 2012 SE part number is 72650-TC0-T12 for left rear. The video is right rear

Outstanding presentation. With your help, I did the both front door actuators a year or so ago and now the rear doors have quit working properly. Also purchased the window door seal trim and will complete that job at the same time. With your assistance, of coarse! Thank you!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOE POSTING THIS VIDEO. Thanks for showing the right part number. Dealership first gave me wrong one. Showed your video to them and they said “oh you were right!” Video perfectly illustrates what i needed to do. Wife and I replaced part within one hour! Thank you again!

It’s a MUST to use a number 3 screwdriver tip or you’re guaranteed to round out the screw slots. In fact, with no experience you ARE going to ruin at least some of them anyway. They are on stupid tight. They cost almost $5 per screw at the dealership. Yes, each one. Amazon or eBay sells the pack of 3 for $11, as of this post’s date. I found them at Home Depot for $1.25 plus tax each. Still expensive for one single screw but way better to than $3 or $4. You must drill out the damaged screw in the center starting with a smaller bit then a larger one but careful not to hit the car metal because the car hole has the screw hole threads. The screws are in drawers at Home Depot. Look for these: M6-1.0 X 1.8mm Flat head screw Metric Don’t worry that the screw tip isn’t smaller like on the factory screws. That’s just to make guiding the screw into the hole easier. I had no problem.

Good video. I just replaced the lock actuator on a chevy impala. At least the driver door now unlocks with the key fob now 👍. It's crazy how they don't include the foam on the new unit. I'd rather have it pre installed and they charge an extra $10 or so for the part

I got my replacement part from a local junk yard , So I don't know if it is actually good or not . would you recommend testing the replacement by unplugging the electric connector from the actuator and plugging it into the replacement one (without the cables)? That way I don't go through removing the old one just to find out that the replacement won't work.

Thanks for the informative video. I was hoping that you would answer a question for me. How do you disconnect the fog lamp switch on an 04 Element. The switch is slightly out but I need to disconnect it from the wiring harness so that I can replace the bulb

Thank you! Used your videos to change both front door actuators, oil and transmission fluid on my 2004 accord. I found this video while searching on how to replace a rear door actuator on a 2003-2005 accord. Does the rod clip on the latch similarly to how you showed it here for a 2008 model?
@andreik17752 жыл бұрын
I got it fixed with no issue. There was no rod in the rear door. I just had to slide the mechanism in place, align the three screw on the latch, and tightened them. Put the door on, but the handle didn’t work. I knew i already broke it, but I thought I had it fixed like the other two doors with some duct tape and a ziptie. So I took the door and the handle off just to realize that the child lock was on…

With respect to the glue, what I do is ... "Pull off the nylon together with the glue. The glue is obviously hardened with age and no longer sticky. So, when re-installing, I apply some contact cleaner to the glue step by step and glue it back. " The contact cleaner acts as a solvent and softens the glue, bringing back its stickiness. I apply it to about a 6 inch portion of glue and stick, then the next 6 inch and stick, and so on..
@daviderhahon3 жыл бұрын
Carb cleaner works too, but is a stronger solvent and would soften the glue way too much and mess it up. To use this, spray only very lightly on glue.
