BIGGER Better for gaming LG 39GS95QE ULTRAWIDE Monitor

LG used to have a 38" ultra-wide "WQHD+" display in the Ultragear line that had a resolution of 3840x1600. IMO, this was the perfect monitor size and resolution for modern gaming. It gives much better PPI and image clarity (especially text) than 1440, but is less demanding than 4K. Alienware had a similar one as well. I'm hoping one of these companies will release an OLED version in this form factor.

Great video! I’ve had this monitor for 2 weeks now. It’s absolutely perfect! The only con is straight panels are ruined for me now. When I look at them (especially straight panel ultra wides) the corners appear to “warp” inwards on the sides. That’s how used to the curve I am. It’s ironic, because I was worried I wouldn’t like the curve. But having used it for awhile now I can say that I love it and would be incredibly sad if I had to give it up.

Im debating between trading my g80sd for the 39 inch or not. I have too many issues with the g80sd like the hdr randomly pnly clipping at 600 with peak brightness on high

@JoelsterG4k yeah my issue with the g80sd is that no matter what when I use high peak brightness and calibrate it to 1000 it goes back to clipping at 600 even with peak brightness on high

I have the 39 inch one and I love it but I also just purchased the Alienware 32 Oled at bestbuy open box for 774 dollars yesterday. I have to admit glossy is great but the ultrawide something about it is good. I might be returning the Alienware because it was open box in excellent condition there is a tiny small dot scratch on it that won't come off. It isn't noticable when using the monitor only when you turn it off and also just knowing it is there.

Yes, I reviewed a 49" from Samsung and it was just too big, 39" is the sweet spot.

Except that a bigger 43 inch or 50 inch 16 * 9 normal widescreen is better because if seeing more is your argument you see more on a normal widescreen LOL

@xdi1733 on the 16:9 you can see more vertical screen but on the ultrawide you'll have a wider field of view which is great for gaming.

@JoelsterG4k yes but you don't lose any horizontal on the 16:9 where as on the 21:9 you lose the vertical at the same width?. That's my take lol 😅

@xdi1733 I have a video where I showed a short comparison between an ultrawide and a 32" 16:9 monitor and you can see how much it gets cut on the 16:9, I was playing Hell divers 2 and it was a huge difference, but it is only available for PC, on consoles 16:9 is the way to go.

@JoelsterG4k Interesting I'll see if I can find it. You sure it gets cut out? Or is 21:9 stretching/adding width? So does 21:9 cut out image from 32:9? My mind is going to explode Jolsteter if this is true lol
