being able to achieve biological balance with a planted nano tank is a feat of skill for me at this point. it's also better if you're renting because if there's a leak or it breaks, you haven't done massive water damage to property you don't own-- a lot of apartments ban tanks because of people following this "bigger is better" thought who then cause a catastrophe for a realtor or manager to clean up. plus, lower startup cost. pet keepers communities are already classist af, and with fish most of the cost is in the tank startup and livestock purchase, not on say food if you don't overfeed. smaller aquarium plus more plants and the right substrate and filter and light... less maintenance than a bare bottomed 29 gallon with a HOB filter and a Spongebob pineapple hide for the same price. which is what they'll go for if bigger is the only metric they hear. as a site that sells nano fish, you'd think you guys would understand that! I get that you cater to hobbyists, but thought the channel was education. bigger water amount DOES equal less sudden crashes, but honestly I'm doing regular maintenance way more often than I'm experiencing catastrophe.

Not when it sits on your desk at work. Then a 2.5 to 5 gal works best and filled with some beautiful Blue Dream shrimp. 🦐

this! want that lil nightlight tank next to your bed? put some shrimp or snails in it, watch them shrimpin' away in their little shrimpy ways as you drift off.
