Tech alum here. We are very inexperienced on defense. Defense is loaded with true freshman and RS sophomores. Injuries have also decimated the secondary, hence the true freshman playing. On offense, we rely heavily on the success of Brooks running the ball. We could win every game, but given the inexperience, we could lose every game. It will be fun to see how it all shakes out

Defensive stats are also skewed by the horrible start. The defense has looked a little better each week and most recently against Arizona it looked pretty dang good and won us the game.

I would agree with that, however I would just add to your comment I think the fight our raider defense has show really since week one but more so in the past few weeks really says a lot. You can tell from the way the coaches talk and lead this team that our players regardless of experience want to fight for them. That kind of culture is extremely important, it creates a strong competitive environment. That will to fight from everyone is something we’ve been missing for a while. We’ll see what happens the back half of the season

Texas Tech did not come off a bye-week. This week (Oct. 12) is their Bye-Week.

I went to a game at Memorial stadium in Lincoln during our bye week. I was shocked that they have no songs they sing along with. What we have at Jack Trice is more amazing than most of us realize. Most teams can't get their fans to sing and dance along to anything, let alone enough songs that fans can complain about them. (Listening to the crowd sing Mr. Brightside so loudly that it was easy to hear on TV was awesome)

Jake I completely disagree that 10-0 would result in a disappointing season. Idk how you can be an Iowa State fan and assume we will even get to 10-0, let alone be disappointed in the season. I think 5-7 or 6-6 would be disappointing but 7 or 8 wins is about what Vegas had, so it’s hard to be disappointed with a team that is what everyone thought they would be.

Agreed. For Iowa State, the slow starts is my biggest concern for Iowa State. Because that could be a trouble maker against the better teams

It is their best strength and biggest weakness. The coaches are AMAZING at making adjustments based on what the other team is doing. They spend a lot of the first quarter observing the other team rather than going for their jugular.

I don’t think the defensive numbers are a good reflection of Texas Tech right now. The first 2 games really skewed those numbers. Those 2 games they absolutely got roasted but have looked different since week 3

UCF has flipped from exciting to ho-hum…and Kansas? How does that happen?! Same thing for OSU.

Sunny Dykes seat is hot The Qb is good but does not run The RB are 175 lbs it is hard to run between the tackles The wide Receivers are good but they don't get the ball to Cevion Williams the stud WR The offense is a Air Riad type offense great for stats but hard to score in the red zone the defense is learning but is undisciplined Leaders Inspire to get men to preform too or exceed ability. The General is Sunny
