If it comes to the UK (not confirmed), it needs to be £15k like the entry level Dacia Spring. At that price, it will be a far better car for the same price and might get some traction. If it’s 318k to £20k in the UK I still think it’s going to struggle as there will be cars like the Citroen E-C3 and Renault 5 to compete against.

Dacia Spring is 20k euro. I think the whole EU must follow the France's example and calculate the CO2 emitted during the whole production and transportation process. This is the reason for which Model 3 don't receive incentives in France and the reason for which Renault 5's supply chain is on a 300 km radius. Plus I will add the pollution with SO2 and NO2.

The reason we don't have more than 5 percent of the population in Sweden driving a pure EV is simple, it's still fantasy high prices. You could purchase a Suzuki Ignis here, brand new for like 14-18K usd, take it and drive 600 km. But the absolutely cheapest EV here has an range of 200 Km in the summer and cost almost 3 times as much. Top that up with slow charging and 1000 different charge-station owners that all want to cover their own base with prices often topping that of its Ice counterparts, like gasoline - and you have a no-go. I just don't see it happen.

@@MJ-revered I’m not learning what? You’ve not told me anything I’m not aware of. By the way it’s a joint venture for Chery in an old Nissan site. Lots of subsidies offered by the Spanish. Think they’ll eventually move to Hungry when the subsidies run out. It’s very common practice.

BYD are a joke in the Uk. With more models and more dealers they sold just 333 cars in April 2024, meanwhile SAIC (MG) sold 5371 cars. BYD are obviously facing big problems with UK pricing which is more than double than their cars cost in China.

I wonder how high the tariffs and other taxes charges are on Chinese Electric Vehicle in European countries ? Probably the tariffs taxes will make the Chinese EVs much more expensive to buy then the European EVs. Let hope tariffs taxes will be low to allow MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE to switch to buy an EV ? 😉💖🚙⚡️🔋🌞🌏✌️

Not at all as there are massive countries that drive on the left & produce massive amounts of RHD cars & many countries around the world aren't car dependent like US or OZ. I'm originally from Jamaica & we drive on the left & have no problems with cars. Most of our cars come used from Japan, Singapore, Thailand, & the UK it's also the same in most Caribbean, Southern African, & East African countries.

Yes, it's cheaper so it's better. That's the point of cheaper products. They're cheaper. We buy them because they cost less. That often means they don't taste quite as good, or aren't as large, or don't have as many features. But they generally do the job you actually need.

Today, there was an accident in China where a BYD driver was electrocuted while sitting in the driver's seat and fell unconscious. It didn't rain and there were no crashes. It appears that liquid flowed from the battery and climbed onto the vehicle, causing an electric shock.

Only a fool would place tariffs on Chinese EVs and make it more expensive for their own consumers. I know some will say that without tariffs local car manufacturing would disappear along with those jobs. But as a consumer, it's not my problem. That's the govt's responsibility to ensure these people are employed. I just want a safe car at a reasonable price. And if you put tariffs in the EU the Chinese will just make them in Hungary, skirting the tariffs. So just embrace the lower cost Chinese cars

Quality not up to European standard Not cheap Poor range compared to Wltp figures The same for Nio, Zeekr, Huwai, Aiways etc etc all salesflop..... . The same in Norway, Germany, Uk, despite massive press and media attention like mr Viking..... . No sales. Only Chinese build Volvo and MG sell well.

Europeans should learn from Asean. The buyers here don't pay overpriced and overhyped Europeans evs because most can't afford to. Chinese evs absolutely dominate the market because they are affordable and reliable. They know Chinese batteries are used by non Chinese automakers like Tesla because they are the safest ones around. They also know many Byd and NIO ev models have 5 star safety rating. EU is worried about their evs coming into Europe for a good reason. The only weapon they have is by imposing more tariffs to protect their own brands from being demolished.
