I can't stand a lot of these Full Bridge amps and the sound quality. Especially Taramps. Don't know why they just don't sound as good. In fact it was Parker that switched from Alpine to Taramps and even over a video recording on KZbin you can hear a major difference in sound quality. Not to mention I've seen several Taramps burn down vehicles from the amps going out, and many amps catching on fire. I definitely like the Sound Digital amps, they are awesome 😎. And insane power. Stetson, I can't say, haven't heard enough about them, but I've seen one go up in flames, but I felt it was way over loaded and should have been 4-6 of those things in that particular setup. Pioneer has a great one as well, but it's more of a smaller budget amp. Now, their was one other that caught on fire when Big D put it on a dyno, but I don't remember the brand. On the amps defense, it's a resistive load, but still, it's just another Full Bridge when hundreds of Class-D amps survived the same test. JP amps will do 20k+ at 0.5 ohm on 14.3vdc on the resistive dyno and hold up just fine. And it was a 7k amp if I remember. So 4 JP93's will do the same as these Taramps but clean and more reliable. This set-up, 6 JP's strapped would have killed it, or two DB 15k.

shorting a taramps on the case will take out the input side of the amp. likely with the size and style of amp it could and should be saved.

100% would......my guy looks pretty knowledgeable. I don't think he would pony up the money for a new 30k if the other one wasn't jacked up. You heard him say now it clicks when he turns it up which would suggest he blew the input side of the amp. With full bridge 100% possible.
