I raised, showed and rode Arabians for over 40 years. I agree with others who have said that riding on Blacktop is hard on the Animals, it is! Especially high Stepping Horses. All of you who ride like these people should start thinking about your Horses, not just your fun. Stop abusing your Animals, their Feet, Legs and Backs can’t take ridding on Pavement for long periods of time. All of you who do these things are damaging your Animals. It’s always a bad idea to mix careless drivers and careless riders together. That’s an accident waiting to happen. I’m sure this group was having a good time and meant no harm to any of the horses. It's not foolish talk at all. I'm in North Carolina and every year in the southeast rural county I live in, all the black people that keep horses have a big home coming and pig pickin and black riders from all over our state will join up and they ride like this. Here in NC, black riders like to coordinate their clothing and tack. It is stylish! I would have loved to join up with them but I always had to work. One year some riders came down here from Raleigh with their trailers and tack and stopped at a grocery store and I talked to them a while. I asked them where their horses were and they told me that it was too hot to bring them. That is how much they cared about traveling long distance in severe weather. It was indeed humid and hot like crazy that year. The thing is, not many black folk themselves know about horse keeping and they would exclaim the same thing as BOSS! At work I get asked a lot about horses by my co-workers. So, it isn't racist or foolish because most city black folk are unaware about those who love, enjoy, and keep horses. Wow.@@GALLEN-vf7uy

When and where is this trailride held?

Uuumm did anyone tell them to ride not on high speeds on the hard concrete?? If I would do this, my riding teacher would let me pay the vet bill for broken hoofs and joints 🤦🏼♀️ dude!

keep taking your riding lessons and riding however YOU like , but just know that not ONE of these riders is listening to you telling them how YOU think they should ride THEIR horse ! If it hurts your horse to ride in the street, don't do it.

They shouldn't be running those horses on pavement.

@@khepajooo It is bad for their leg bones. The jarring is much more intense on concrete than on natural ground.

They won't be sound very long. And some of them were not gaiting., cantering/galloping. And some spooked..

Just a heads up! It can injure the horses on pavement since its not a natural ground the usually stand on, make sure to not gallop them on the pacement since it could injure leg bones temporarily.
