@@that417dadbod here. Lmao the nose tork was dead. I sniffed it to show the viewers what real powerlifting is. The elbow sleeves offer less than 1lb spring back as I can fold them in half with my elbow and index finger. They just help keep elbows warm. Wrist wraps are allowed in comp.

Deadlift was insane. We used nearly every single weight that I brought with me that day. I'm talking ratchet straps and duct tape to hold it all together!!! Will launch that video in one week.

Stoked that I'm certain, CERTAIN that folks that see this that don't already lift on the regular will see the joy that can come from it. It's THE BEST one-player sport: it's just you vs gravity / you vs yesterday-you. And you get to watch that progress in tangible numbers. Setting that time aside for yourself, the dopamine hit of a PR, the moments of pure-meditative-focus mid-lift... it's a hell of an anti-depressant. So yeah, brothers and sisters and others, try it. Just... give yourself a couple months. Try it.

For all these strength competitions, you need to have a category that measures strength pound for pound against lifter’s weight. Naturally a bigger person will lift more so it’s already stacked against the smaller guys

I respect the big guys and girls lifting big. Gives us all something to work for. On the flip side, what about doing weight classes like powerlifting meets with the cash prizes split amongst the best in each class? I think it would incentivize a larger group of people to show up.

4 or 5 years ago i remember a few months after i started working out i was 230 lbs and could only bench 200 for my max 3 or so months before it was only 150 so it was good progress but ive always been an agressive bike rider and i ran a ton never as a sport because of my asthma but somehow i was able to do a 400lb back squat my first time ever squatting heavy i was so proud apparently my weak spot is my triceps and chest but i can do it i let myself go because of horrible life events that broke me down im just now starting to get back into it ive lost alot of my strength and gained probably 70lbs the hardest part is the motivation to keep going lets get those gains yall being healthy feels so much better you need that energy to survive
