The run off on turn one seems huge and the cars still carry such speed through it. Wonder if they should replace more grass with gravel.

I think Ingle "tarnished his halo" a little near the end of the video. I wasn't truly upset with him until he veered over toward Skaifee. Totally uncalled for!!

The thing that this highlights most for me is how freaking annoying the massive leaderboard is in later years, taking up a full quarter of the damn screen. It's one reason I don't really watch Supercars any more, though I used to love them. I want to watch the action, and half of it's obscured! The other reason is the new bodies. We all knew that the Commodore, Falcon etc bodies were just shells, but the fact that they looked like cars we saw and drove regularly meant that it felt like we had a connection to the race. I understand that Supercars has limited options when it comes to manufacturers and what they're willing to do for a relatively small competition. But how many Australians are ever going to drive or own a Camaro or a Mustang? I feel like I'm watching an American stock car race, not an Australian one. It takes all the fun and uniqueness out of it. TLDR: great highlights reel, but I hate the way Supercars is going and felt grumpy enough today to rant about it.

I cant believe how much the track has changed over the years, like from the 1990’s early 2000’s to now, safety has gone up but I will raise a couple things. 1) The 2014 weekend I believe had some big shunts. I think David Reynolds and Tim Slade at turn 3, also Pye and Reynolds at the same corner that weekend too. I saw someone comment Steven Richards having a big one at turn 3 in 08, that was nasty. I also think in 2004 Todd Kelly got involved in an incident and as he rejoined he got collected by Jason Richard. Also I think there was a pile up at turn 2 in 07 could be wrong. 2) I think Sydney Motorsport park needs to get rid of the old drag strip at the front straight. I know they use it for burnouts and other events as I go to Sydney Motorsport a lot due to enjoying motorsport. Watching some of the other major categories and grassroots racing there. Anyway get rid of that and extend the gravel trap there as when the grass is wet we see it time and time again cars picking up speed through the wet grass. Also put a gravel trap at turn 2 as its just grass there and we saw what happen on the weekend the amount of cars that almost made the end of that run off area. Your going through a corner that’s about 215 km/h at turn 1 to pick up speed for a hard braking zone at turn 2.
