BIGGEST GUN IN THE GAME TURNS TIGERS INTO CONFETTI

The FV4005 has the biggest cannon in War Thunder. That is of course if you don't count Ships! :) The Doom Barn is a fan favourite amongst War Thunder Fans and it's easy to see why!
The FV4005 houses a 183mm cannon that fires a GIANT HESH shell. It's basically a super sonic satchel charge. Nothing is safe from this thing due to the HESH effect and as well as that, overpressure and shrapnel play a huge part of this tanks damage!
If there's an unfortunate vehicle that's open top in close proximity to this thing, they'll be absolutely eviscerated. THAT'S how powerful this gun is.
It's a super frustrating and super fun vehicle to play all at the same time!

My mate would beg to differ that the 4005 isnt good at all. He took a total guesstimate of a 1.8km shot with this thing, hit and one shot a Leopard. He will NOT shut up about it, and hasnt for 3 months now XD

One thing I learnt with this thing when I used to play it is that the machine gun has the same ballistics as the cannon afaik, which allows for calculating shots, dunno if it was mentioned in the video

That used to be a deliberate thing on some tanks, spotter/ranging gun. The ammo was deliberately made to fire same trajectory. You fire the little gun, if it's hitting where you want, fire the main gun.

Archer Valentine isn't that bad, you are the eternal enemy of 2.7's greatest fear. the M4A3 (105), difficult to kill from the front when using pretty much anything at 2.7 that isn't an Archer

I’ve been trying this game since it was launched. Never had any real success in it. In all game modes, I end up spending a dozen minutes just driving around and getting annihilated without even seeing where the enemy player was. After all these years, I still can’t figure out how the top 95% of the players are identifying pixels through foliage as being part a target.

I am always watching videos like this or PhlyDaily and every single shot they take, I am asking myself, “how in the hell did they spot that tank?” … Their experience of the game is completely different than mine. They are just driving around.. “oh… what is this… *(aiming at something, While im asking myself what is they are aiming at) .. boom - tank destroyed”. I am driving my hellcat, trying to be as sneaky as possible, i see no tanks anywhere, then,… i hear an engine, look left and there is a Tiger passing on my left. … “oh good he did not see me.” I’m turning, getting behind him shoot im in the engine, .. nothing. He starts turning his turret towards me.. i shoot him again in the side of the Turret, No penetration. I run away, hide and repair as his machine gun just took out my driver, i double back and the TIger is gone. And while I am trying to figure out where the hell he disappeared, BOOM. I get shot by same TIger. Just that this time he is somehow hiding behind something and i cannot distinguish his shape. Well, finally, i guess im only playing this game for the sound effects and the driving mechanics. I gave up in improving my game winreate looong time ago. It is a beautiful crafted game with nice landscapes. :))))

@@garrickaldwych4115 if you get the drop on someone like that from side, shoot his barrel out and then machine gun his tracks, then go for the kill by paying attention to where ammo and remaining crew are in your shot camera/x-ray in upper right. Only one piece of advice, I know.

Don't go the way of the Derp Gun, my friend! Trust me, I know what I am talking about, I have only one tank with more than 1k kills and it is the Brummbär aka BestBear. Once you take the path of the Derp Gun, you can't use normal guns anymore because you get too lazy to learn armour layouts and weakspots. :P XD

Can I ask a unrelated question to all of you, but it had been interesting to see OddBawZ thought and maybe a video about it. But I like the realistic maps in War Thunder that are based on real location at some point in time, but when it come to a map like Sweden it feel unrealistic, and for me that is a Swede I can not relate to it. So the question is, what map style do you like and how Swedish/Italian (and so on) do you think the fantasy maps look, do the Swedish map (as an example) feel like a Swedish location for you?

Thats the thing, unless gaijin intends to go the WoT route with artillery (For the love of what remains every player's sanity, please don't) then self propelled artillery vehicles similar to the SU-14-1/SU-14-2 and 2B1 Oka would be nearly unplayable due to the guns being locked in one place and having to turn the entire chassis to shoot something. some may argue the Strv-103 is like that yet it's still viable, but it has a 4 second autoloader, decent frontal protection, good mobility, and a low profile. the Su-14-1/Su-14-2 have none of these features, they are massive, all crew is in the open, extremely sluggish, and would take more time to reload than the FV4005. i can understand vehicles like the Type 75 SPH, 2S3M, Bkan 1C, Panzerhaubitze 2000, etc because they have turrets. but with the way Ground battles are right now, huge open crew layout artillery pieces don't really have a place

Scout vehicles could request fire at a certain location while artillery vehicles could respond with locking in and a white marker would appear and a green marker. the greeen marker is for aiming the gun while the white marker is where the scout marked. so its like the naval aiming system in WT. You have to guide the green marker to where the white marker is. note that the artillery does not go into a bird's eye view. the view is still the same except that now there are markers. Because its blind fire. the shot won't be as accurate. oh and spawn points cannot be marked for artillery fire.
