You always provide such great value in your vlogs. Thanks

You hit the point perfectly there. Starting producers really want to get some basic knowledge about for example compositional stuff and moods of different kinds of progressions but they only get that fancy stuff. Ah hard to explain :D

As everyday: nice Vlog! It will be nice to see your new video equipment in one of the next Vlog. I'm taking driving lessons right now for my driving license and today I was on the freeway once more and i totally agree, it's a lot of fun. But it's quite stressful when it's dark outside and everyone wants to be at home as fast as possible and don't care about the rules.

I have been watching your channel for a while, found some interesting videos and for this i am grateful man, thanks but without wanting to be annoying, i have some points to make! Producing methods and technics can be very subjective depending on the final objective, i found that those tips are great for begginers, but not necessary absolute truths, i disagree about the layering and the minimalist aproach, depends on the genre you are producing, i produce psytrance therefore, there's gonna be a lot of layers, and yes, is more difficult to mix but not impossible, it's a different mindset! And i also disagree with the bus routing, it is extremely useful if you know what you are doing, depending on how you handle everything can change the sound dramatically and i can't live without it, it helps me glue things together. Anyway, cheers from Brazil!

your right layering and routing is helpful this video is more for beginners that have never finished a track and start routing stuff instead of focusing on the more important things same for layering some try to rescue their synth sounds with it but I think the main sound should be already good.

How do you need a lot of lead layers in psytrance ?
@victornevares
@victornevares 8 жыл бұрын
Jon Sine Agree on that, we should always focus in getting the most out of the main sound.
@victornevares
@victornevares 8 жыл бұрын
TheBackwasher It depends on the vibe, not like a rule or formula, sometimes it can be minimalist as well, but there is a tendency to maximalism in the psytrance genres that I like to produce, with several elements, some tracks have up to 150 tracks, of course it does not play all at the same time, but it is a lot of layers, not necessary in the same melody or structure.

I couldn't watch the Autobahn, 😳 gave me anxiety, but if we had this in the states it would eliminate lots of idiots much faster, hahaha, am only kidding, your a brave man. Thanks so much for this episode, I unfortunately fell into the "must layer, compress and obsess" hole, you cleared up the reason as to why my drafts sounded better than my mixed versions, lol ugh, You rock!

How much time do you spend on automation, EQing, etc. in comparison to making melodies & drums? Very helpful tips!
@Jonsine
@Jonsine 8 жыл бұрын
hard to answer. it really depends on the track I spend most time mixing and thinking about the track and the general direction reflecting a lot my ideas eqing automating and everything else is done fairly quick

Is it compulsary to use protools in future or logic pro coz in that case i might have to upgrade to Mac Osx HackinTosh.I Use Cubase primary for my music production for abt 3 months and Run it in my friends Laptop with i7 4gb ram dell windows.I decided to buy a laptop instead of pc for myself for portability, later in future when i will setup my own studio i would go for Big system.So the laptop which i am going for has top end configuration..i7 7th gen+16 gb ram+256 gb ssd+ Necessary ports+faster graphics.So can i go for it for my music production???

Hey thank you so much for your these helpful videos for a music producer ! I just wanna ask you a question about drum loops.When i make my drum loops,i put clap to 2 and 4 as usual :) and i want to hear my claps clear,obvious.But they are clashing with kick drums and if my kick drum at -7db when claps hit my master fader hits at -4db so i lost -3 db at my master.Do you have a special process about this ? Limiting drum buss before you send it to your master channel ? Or you don't care about it ? Cheers ;)
@Jonsine
@Jonsine 8 жыл бұрын
you could try moving the clap a few milliseconds to the front so that the attack hits slightly before the kick. if you make it right this might help with the mixing and it'll still sound if they hit together could also improve the grove of the track
@housestyle1840
@housestyle1840 8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jon ,i generally put claps few milliseconds before the kick.But they still make the fader louder when they hit together.So it's normal then.I'm trying to gain a headroom at master to make my track louder.But i think you avoid limiting drums ,it's killing the dynamics.
