Sad part is, 3 years later the -10 RMS you speak of is super low in Pop music. I've been working on mastering my latest song for 3 days trying to match to todays billboard hits which in Hiphop is 6.8 LUFS and pop 7.3 LUFS. RMS isn't really as useful anymore as it sucks measuring perceived loudness. Yes the streaming sites all turn the music down, but the Major labels are still cranking up the volume for a reason and I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel.

Daaaamn, those kicks are hella punching through. Your mixes sound so clean! btw, do you do alot of layering or do you just use one instrument/plugin for each sound?
@Jonsine8 жыл бұрын
thx. i usually don't layer synth sounds. doesn't really fit to deep house but for EDM big room tracks this makes totally sense.

at 4:52 on your timeline You advise to get it Done Right In The MIX, because The Mastering Engineer is Limited...So TRUE, thats exactly what I discuss in my Video Series too.

Rms is usefull, but it doesn't tell you exactly how loud your track is perceived. Certain frequencies seem louder for the human ear. Can be usefull to check on a Lufs meter.

Thanks Jon...Im questioning your judgement, Im just still learning more about Compression to be quite open & honest with you here. Thanks Jon

Hello Jon Sine! Once I've found a list of different metering plugins byIan Shepperd (I'm sorry, maybe I misspelling his name, but I'm sure you know about him), and he writes in that metering plugin list,some plugins are not precise and some plugins are precise, and SPAN is precise (DBFS),but only if you set it to DBFS+3 more. (Sorry, I haven't find the exact link, but I suggest you try and compare it anyways.) I hope it helps. Thanks for your awesome videos, have a nice day! :)

thanks for the tip i will try it but i think its just because its way to warm in my studio with all the absorbing material and the window closed. i don't have that problem in any other room. for collaboration tips watch the vlog "producing a track with phonique" this might help i will also talk about it in one of the upcoming videos. best

Yes, EQ, Compression, Stereo Imaging & a Limiter... I have the same kind of Analyzer I actuall yhave CURVE EQ...hey JON, Dont tell me that Youre Not really a MASTERING Engineer, Brother...yes You Are....Did you know that I recently uploaded my latest Series on RECORDING-MIXING & MASTERING? its a 5 Vidoe Series. The Main 4/5ths of the Videos are Up online on my youtube channel. The 5th Video I still have to Create & thats a BONUS material Video...Man it tokk me a MONTH to Do thst Series! I worked 24/7 on it besides...It was very challenging & every time I Processed a Video, (my Video editing software never this to me before) but every video, Threw the Audio-Video Alignment out of Whack to where I would have to reprocess every video & realign them. It was a hassle besides ALL the CONTENT I had to put in them. I want to get a Better Video Processor. The ones I have Cost me Money...oh well, guess I have to spend more & get something better But I cannot Afford SONY VEAGS for $500 or anything like that . I Use Wondershare Filmora, and I even have NCH Video Pad Video Editro which is really not that great anyway. I feel Poor sometimes. haha..anyway Thanks Jon

This is just an ignorant answer, like any banal answers to a deeper questions. There's no stupid question, but there are stupid answer, and by the way you weren't asked about nothing. It's your opinion, free to tell it to the world, but i also have opinion that sounds stupid, i just avoid to spam them all over the internet... It's just attitude.
