A helpful commenter pointed out that I neglected to mention the fix to this issue. I am not aware of a way to fix this issue so unfortunately it means you must replace your motor assembly. Here are a few links for the main body but BEFORE you purchase, verify it corresponds to your exact model information! New motor assembly: amzn.to/3V4qYYO

I agree. This channel is really good. Good concise information and easy to listen to. I own 2 Dyson stick vacs, the V11 and the Gen5 detect. I've had a few issues with my V11, but Dyson has looked after me every time. The first issue was the exact problem you made a vid about the V11 randomly turning on. The second was the dirt cup falling apart. Dyson sent me a brand new Main Body & Big Cyclone Assy and a new bin assembly, free of charge, which I was very happy with and quite surprised, considering it was a year and a half out of warranty. Just thought I'd share that. Great channel.
