Biggest NCsoft Shill Plays Throne and Liberty Open Beta

Finally, after 12 years of waiting, I got to play Throne and Liberty on the Weekend in their Open Beta, As someone who has been a fan of pretty much every NCsoft game in the past, T&L was quite a disappointing experience. In this video I go through my experience with the game and how I feel about it.

wow you got till 20, i could get past 16, This game bored me to death, generic quests , boring combat, 500 mechanics thrown on you as soon as you get to the town, Nice graphics, but we all know this days that graphics arent anything if the core is meh All these people saying, oh you didnt get to X level first, Man if you have to invest 60 hours into the game to start getting interesting, in my opinion is not worth playing.

It's a MMO it has mechanics that it needs to teach you so you can learn the game like is this new to people im fucking lost...you didn't even fill out your hot bar with skills yet and be like games trash damn gamers have become some soft Karen ass pussies you can tell your mother raised.

@@Freelancer604 there's isn't a single new quality asian game that doesn't have gear appearance change why he was surprised shows how bitter he was going into the game this guy must have played those games from like 2010 that were cookie cutter trash MMOs and a dime a dozen to try and compare to this what a joke.

i got filtered by this game at level 1, can't decide which weapons to pick, and i can't be bothered to read what hundreds of abilities/passives do 😂

Haha, just pick one of the S-tier builds and go with it. There is no need to read anything. Then just create a single button macro that presses all the skills for you.

Sorry but i dont think you know what floaty combat means floaty is ESO. You didnt even get to 30+ to experience epic skills and i see you played crossbow/bow which dont work well each other as they have different max ranges. Did you play with the options for combat and turn on/off things that would make the game feel better or did you not even check? Skill buffer option makes the skills have a que like system which is off by default and that made combat feel a ton smoother as before pressing a skill didnt feel reactive and you had to sometimes press it 3 or 4 times to get it to work ALSO there was a option for press and release for skills that were aimed instead of needing to double click. The combat in the beta to me was a solid 7/10 once you get the flow and got good skills. The KR version just got a combat overhaul too as of 7/24/2024 which changes the flow of combat a TON and is much smoother now and this combat will be implemented on global release version which will add a ton more build variety which is fantastic. Now you state in the beginning you dont like the enhancement system to lvl your gear and that you like crafted gear then literally the next topic is crafted gear and you say you dont like crafted gear?? What do you even want...I feel like you listened to others negative opinions and just went with it yourself and just didnt even give it a chance.

I played with all the options, and as long as the camera smoothing is a thing, the combat is going to feel like shit. What I truly wanted was the next game in the Lineage franchise, but obviously this one isn't going to be it. When it comes to crafted gear, I want more sandboxy mechanics. Stuff like Albion, New World and Archeage. You have to make meaningful choices about what you want to craft and then interact with other players to make it work. This whole idea that everyone is just crafting their own gear is very solo-centric and mobile gaming to me. Also, I haven't really seen anyone share the negative opinions I have about the game. Most people don't go much past the "Combat is shit and the game is Korean P2W trash".

@@Nilvarcus It wont be the next game in the Lineage franchise, therefore they renamed it ^^ I played like every game NCSoft has developed (except Lineage and Mobile games) and i am pretty happy with the game state so far. Probably your expectations were too high, idk. It's getting really fun to play when you do coop-dungeons which do have mechanics. And you should still consider, the game isnt even released. its still quite new. so NCSoft has to implement all feedback from KR/West, which will take some time. Aion needed like 4 Years to get good... before it just was a shit game without any endgame. But yeah thats quite normal for a MMO these days.

@@Nilvarcus so there it is you expected it to be one thing and when it wasn't you had already given up on it and bash it as trash. I'm not sure what you mean by the camera exactly but idk what that has to do with making the combat feel like shit to you. The camera was a little different then I was used to but I played the game and got used to it very quickly it was perfectly fine. To me the gear crafting here is ok there is gear for certain stats such as crit, hit, mana Regen, health, more defense etc. you have to go out in the world and farm the mats and do contracts to get the lithograph recipe rarity to make the gear you want and I'm pretty sure when you get to the higher end rarity gear you will most likely need to group up to farm the mobs needed for mats needed to craft the gear you want it may be more solo-centric but I'm confused on how new world is any different? New worlds crafting you would spend half your time leveling your mining/tree cutting/whatever to get the mats needed to craft a piece a gear just to out level that gear in 5 levels and then you had to do the process all over again that system was shit imo there was no point in lower level gear whatsoever as drops were better 99% of the time so I can't agree with crafted gear system you want at all. Most people don't go past p2w or combat sucks because they are like yourself and bash the game and only get to level 20 for their final opinion it's sad to see how little effort people give to anything and instead go to KZbin to bash something they gave no chance and went into it mad at it.

@@NastyGenV Honestly, I'm not mad or have any interest in bashing it. I'm actually quite happy that people are getting new MMORPGs to play, even if it's not for me. Obviously, my viewpoint is going to be a bit skewed towards this game, I've been waiting for it since 2011. There is no reason to give a "final opinion" on a live-service game; we all know they could completely change, and seeing their latest patch, they are actually doing some cool stuff. I have no FOMO towards games, so even if this game isn't for me on release, I'm not going to completely dismiss it. It could be the greatest MMORPG in 1 year, who knows.

1.) How can you blame "the massive list of Beta Servers"??? Like how are a lot of servers a bad thing for a beta? 2.) The part with "the camera moving too much" can be easily be switched off by not using the action-combat mode. 3.) You can't really say a combat system doesnt feel good, if you didn't even really experience it. Sure you have seen some very basics of it... but its like judging a book by its cover. Honestly. You are right tho, that the crafting feels kina "meh" und not really rewarding, since everybody has to do it (without any specialization). The whole video sounds like you are disappointed, that it aint a "Linage 3"... which i get, since L2 was a good game. But They called it T&L now in development state for years. Comparison is fine, but dont pretend like it tries to be a Lineage 3 and fails being that, since it doesnt :D

2) Camera really isn't moving too fast. Problem is the camera smoothing, when you move the camera, it just feels sluggish. It's very similar to the way the camera feels in GW2. You could even go try Aion just to see how snappy the camera feels, if you want to compare it. 3) The older you get, the more you judge books by their covers. How the combat feels to play is pretty much a 100% subjective experience, that's why you don't really have to play much further than the Tutorial boss to get a feel for it. I could have 2 skills unlocked or 15 skills unlocked, the way it feels wouldn't change. I don't really want it to be Lineage 3. I wouldn't have time to play that game. What I did expect it to be something different from just being a game that I feel like I've been playing the last 20 years already. Then again, if you haven't played MMORPGs for this long, I could see Throne and Liberty being a pretty cool experience. Pretty happy for the console gamers, finally getting something "new" in the MMORPG space.
