There's no way this set will be bigger than Terastal/Prismatic. Everyone is just FOMO-ing after realising it'll all be gone if they don't act straight away, displayed with how prismatic has been flying off the shelves in pre-order stage.

wrong. well at least in Japan. Trainers are so popular ( iono / Lillie) here in Japan and the pre orders go crazy compared to terrestrial. Additionally, Pokémon center has already confirmed there will be a second batch of pre orders available (but they will ship starting from feb) and we haven’t seen this happen in ages.

The big difference here is that you get a promo card when you buy the box. If this set didn't offer the iono promo, i doubt it would be this crazy.

Likely within the next few weeks or so. But to compare this set it would be like Tag Team, Breakthrough, Brilliant Stars which introduced a new Pokemon mechanic (i.e. Tag Teams, BREAKs, Vstar), thought more people are comparing it to Tag Team.

This is not actually indicative of the actual quality of the set. This hype is due to the general bull market of the pokemon space. Especially following both surging sparks and prismatic/terastial festivals. Battle partners has not even released its set list nor has anyone seen more than 2 SARs (both from middling popularity trainers and middling popularity pokemon) so far this set looks middle of the park at best

There are more people now than ever in the history of the game based on the number of players registering for events. It's gotten to the point where they now have limits on the number of people that can participate in the larger tournaments.

I don’t like your odds unfortunately, I was just in Osaka for the release of Terastal Festival and for the two weeks following. I was only able to get 2 packs per person at the pokemon centre until they sold out 3 days after release. There were some dodgy looking resellers in the Ota Rd area selling them for exorbitant reseller prices. (3x retail)

@@chriskeo4170 most of the other SV sets all available with a limit of 5 boxes per person. But the new sets on release were very scarce and hyper limited in my last trip 03-17 Dec 24.

Before the Terastal Festival, there were no purchase limits. However, starting from the Terastal Festival, purchase limits were reinstated, and the Pokémon Center went back to a 2-pack limit. Additionally, there has been a noticeable increase in resellers from countries like China and Vietnam, which has become a growing problem in Japan. For those who don’t understand Japanese, it might be hard to distinguish between different Asian nationalities. However, on release days, you’ll likely witness an unusual scene where languages other than Japanese dominate the atmosphere.

In my opinion this is not about the set “kind of.” We are getting close to hype of the pandemic this is from pocket drawing in new players (is Japanese and English, everywhere is selling out of everything lol) and this is from releasing ES 2.0, Gym 2.0, and Rocket 2.0 bringing in returning players. It should be noted that in Japan most people are eying the promo more than the box at this point. The promo is already "pre selling" for more than the box. Though I'm sure that will drop quite a bit after release.
