I’m sipping my first, Madagascar vanilla and caramel and the obvious use of additives is what brought me to KZbin.

This is why I buy Wild Turkey 101 at $19.99 at Trader Joe’s and add 5% Demerara syrup, 1% vanilla and a toasted oak spiral and mint Widow Jane at home

Good Times and Whiskey Thief are actually 2 separate companies. Whiskey Thief actually allows Good Times to store their MGP barrels on the premise. Down Home bourbon another separate company also stores barrels there. All 3 companies are bottled there though.

How do you know this is what they’re doing? I mean I never trusted in them to begin with, I believe the owner is the same guy who bought a bunch of Kroger sp Russell’s and tatered them up and said they were from his whiskey group.

Thanks for helping expose this. This is what happened to wine. There are over 80 additives that “wineries” in the US can add to wine. In France and Italy that is illegal.

Maybe the distillery should change their name to "Wet Barrel Whiskey"?

Are you saying all of their stuff has added flavoring ? For example, the cigar blends? Or are those just actually aged in sherry, cognac and armagnac barrels?

the worst part is that the ttb gave more latitude to allow producers to include the original aging time AND finishing time in secondary barrels on the label, and certain people choose not to disclose that.

My heart started hurting when I found out Angel envy rye is flavored because they where unable to keep up with the demand with the rum from Bacardi 😩

Subscribed because I've never heard of this wet barrel finishing trick. Ears wide open!

I bought a local bottle that’s finished in maple cask. It’s like a dessert and I swear it was a very “wet” barrel since the maple flavor is noticeable. Way more than the charred oak. I think they need to restrict the use of bourbon if they add anything else. Toasted is ok since it’s still a charred oak barrel.
