25:18 Puck says that when the contract is broken Emilia will regain her memories of the past. When Emilia and Puck first formed a contract Puck erased Emilias memories of her past. Without memories of her past of course she would be unable to pass the trial about facing her past. Puck breakong the contract gives Emilia those memories back and a chance to complete the trial. 26:06 Spirits can exist without a contract. Just because he broke his contract with Emilia doesn't mean Puck is dead just that he is no longer physically with Emila because her Spirit Stone is broken and cannot summon him.

The anime only goes to the end of Arc 4 with condensed info compared to the novels, and The novels are currently in arc 7/8 of a planned 12 arcs for the story 26:05 Misinterpretations are rampant here Pucks contract with Emilia was keeping her memories sealed that’s why he is breaking the contract now, in earlier loops he was not willing to go that far but was not appearing for a different but related reason. He is still a big lazy cat though 26:50 important detail here. It is revealed that Ryuzu can detect the miasma around Subaru but Garfiel cannot, that’s why Garfiel is more friendly to Subaru early in the loops than later, he becomes more hostile after Ryuzu Shima tells him about the Miasma

I actually haven't caught that last one up. It makes much more sense now. So his behaviour in each loop has a big split in them, but in some loops (like the first) Subaru interacted with him last before Shima would tell Garf about miasma. Garf is actually quite predictable then.

@@tri99er_ This is true to some extent, but in the first loop the miasma was probably too weak for Shima to take note of, or he just interacted with Garfiel enough without being suspicious that he was never set off. However, the trigger for Garfiel becoming aggressive is basically Shima tells Garfiel about the Witch Miasma around Subaru+ Garfiel deems something Subaru does suspicious. So he is still pretty volatile in what specific things he does between loops.

Puck has only been gone a few days, it just seems long to you because of Return by Death. Garfiel not completing the trials has been known since Subaru completed the first one. The anime made that clear. This episode suggests that part of Puck’s contract with Emilia is to seal away her memories. She sees them during her trial, but they are sealed again once she fails.

Idk if you caught the dialogue between puck and emilia when puck said that by breaking their contract the seal on emilia's memories will release (that means she will regain her memories) mother fortuna was someone from her past, it is not yet revealed what relationship she has with emilia so I won't spoil it, emilia had a dream of her so she called her a liar, probably for saying that she loved emilia but now she is not here with emilia, same with puck that now puck is gone, and subaru also lied because he said he would spend the night with emilia but she woke up and subaru wasn't there WHICH I WAS MAD WITH SUBARU ABOUT but if he did leave emilia it had to be for a good reason and also I'm surprised you remembered the straight bet ost's name

Now, the following is a spoiler, but since you seen it, I'll explain. In her first trial that scene from her dream will be expanded and context added to it. In there Fortuna makes a promise to Emilia, that they will always be together, but then she dies. She specifically promises that. Having taught Emilia, that breaking promises is wrong. Emilia was calling her a liar back then too. That's why she calls Fortuna a liar here, because she actually remembered, what happened, after Puck broke the contract. She also remembered her own feelings from that time.

They will call Emilia the witches daughter, please keep in mind that this is an insult thrown at her. She is the daughter of a male elf and female human. Just so you don't start to make wrong assumptions, reactors often only notice the insult, but overlook the actual parents.

That's a mystery not an insult though, witch isn't a species but a title(I mean Echidna is a human witch, Sekhmet is a giant witch - small giant but that's her species - Petelgeuse is a spirit and sin archbishop... You get the point the gluttony sin archbishop introduced is probably a demihuman). They really mean Emilia is the daughter of a witch. And there are human female witches so... At the least Echidna Minerva probably Carmilla Typhon Pandora are possibilities). It only sounds like an insult if you assume they mean Satella but that's obviously not it since she's half elf. But her entire season 2 story shows more mystery around her birth it's not an insult and makes no sense as an insult.

so yes, you're right about subaru being fairly physically fit and quite capable for a someone with his age and background. However, Tappei has confirmed that he would at this point in time "Never beat Otto in a fist fight". On top of being more versed in physical combat due to needing to defend himself as a merchant, Otto's mind just works much faster and better than Subaru's. So, he's basically just better than subaru at subaru's own game. Not to take away from Subaru of course.

I have a theory about what's going on based on what's happened this season and what's said in some of the comments. For the record, I have not read the manga and I don't know any spoilers for what might happen past the events of Season 2. I think that when we saw Subaru get summoned from Earth to this world, that this wasn't his first time. I think he went through an entire timeline of events where he met and fell in love with Satella, but then one or numerous horrible things happened. He used his Return by Death power/Authority(or whatever is the correct term) to go back to where he was at the start of this series in the fantasy world when he first met Emilia. However, because of a Witch's Tea Party with Satella or her evil/crazy split personality the Witch of Envy, he had to pay 3 prices: 1) he couldn't remember anything that took place in the Witch's Tea Party just like Subaru's first Tea Party with Echidna 2) he couldn't remember anything from the original timeline of events where he met Satella, which is why she acts like she knows him so well and claims that she loves him the way 2 people who have either been dating long-term or married for 1-10 years minimum 3) he no longer could control when checkpoints were made from his Return by Death power/Authority.

Worth more,rezero is especially too shortened aired. Subaru’s monologues and many expls are omitted, u realized it at beginning of 1st season soon. Since a single reactor, if you do many work without replacement (assistant) like notes, or u will reach the limits of quality and stamina. When a certain overseas reactor in Jpn became unscrupulous and lost support, I felt very pity. If the consequences for Subaru are revealed now, it would be clear to every viewer that there will no longer be a loop. By not revealing it, it is more uncertain whether he will make it now or is there another return by death. It's just a bet. But for now it's a spoiler for the anime because it's clear that it will be picked up later.

Tappei is very aware of the general storytelling meta as it were and has done what he can to subvert or challenge this notion. RbD itself lampshades the usual understanding that the main protagonist doesn't die in a story as that kind of ends the story itself. However the reader got the preconception that the other characters won't die either as Subaru can just RbD to prevent that from happening, which is why Ram was uhh... Removed from the story from that point forward. Thus creating the tension that while Subaru will find a way forward, his friends and love.ones might not survive to his next checkpoint. Now the reason that I brought this up is because of the role all of this has to do with the consequences of the bet. Now in the Web Novel version where we know the consequences of Subaru failing, we as viewers also understand that he was going to be a golden route, as him failing ends the story and goes against the themes this arc was setting up. That in itself ends up messing with the tension for the rest of the arc. The bet itself means Subaru is going to save everyone in one go after all. Now that doesn't mean there isn't suspense, but it isn't the same as usual. You know. So in the Light Novel, or final draft as it kind of is, he decides to hide that consequence from us. This means that there is now leeway for Subaru to cheat. Maybe a repeat of what happened in Arc 3 where he gets a halfway checkpoint to give him a second chance to solve both problems present or something else happens. Whatever the case, the audience doesn't have that meta understanding on why Subaru can't fail in this timeline, and thus leaving room in our mind that he might. After all, what would be stopping Subaru to just make the bet again the next life. Which ends up meaning that it'll take a bit longer to fully realize that this is going to be the golden run for this arc. Of course, ultimately, it is all a matter of taste. Both have their Pros and Cons. You either create that meta knowledge that this is going to be the run, but also have the suspense of the challenges Subaru has to beat in one go. Or you have the suspense of not knowing that Subaru can't afford to.die until after the fact, but at the cost of weakening some of the suspense of the rest of the arc as Subaru Returning by Death is still a solution in the audience's mind. I'm basically just wanting to see if I could try my best to quickly explain why Tappai may have decided to go this route in the end.

Season 2 is a inferior production compared to seasson 1 for things like this. The music of Straight Bet and the scene don't match, Roswaal talks too much, etc. It's not a good scene.
