Looks like the wk2 and 2.5-3 budget lift on 32-33 will replace my daily xk commander on the same set up ...i don't off-road it as its my daily but the road are nad enough here in the mountains that it needs to clear better than city folks but 32-33 with spacers and pinch seam cut and fold should fit enough tire to look like should from the factory. Is the wk2 still a 5spd like XK 5.7 with the 545rfe or have they added more speeds /gears to the gear box ... The xk 5.7 pulls 32s pretty well but more gears wouldn't hurt ...lol... can't picture the v6 on more than stock rubber.

What size spare are you using with the bigger tires since that needs to be the same diameter or risk major 4x4 system damage.

What do you think about spacers on the wheels at all with that size tire? I have those same stock wheels and I’m on the fence about putting spacers to kick them out a little.

Branden, did you stick your hand in the back of the tire were the shock mount is? Is there any rubbing there at all? I tried putting on the nitto ridge grappler 2 on my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland. Size was 305/50/20. Great fit great on the back but the width hit the shock mount on the front. Will need spacers for the front or a smaller size.

Thinking about purchasing some 285 /55/20. When yours is all the way down is that factory hight or a bit higher

When the jeep was all the way down it was below ride height. Once you hit around 10-20mph it’ll go to stock height.

@joeylaspinas16412 жыл бұрын
Hi Nigel. I hope you'll be able to reply on this. I have lift the front 2" and put a 1.25' spacer. Do you think a 285/55/20, which is 0.9 inch taller than the 285/50/20 would fit? If you don't mind, how much is the minimum clearance between the fender and the edge of the tire when you turn the wheel? Your reply is much appreciated.

Hi.Very ,very helpful. Did you test it off road without ever rubbing? I own a 2019 G.Ch. Limited , and here in Chile they come with 20´ wheels. G.Ch Limited doesn´t have Quafralift ,so I would like to know if with the "Standard" lift , the 275/55/20 tires would rubb in the Limited doing Off road.(Sorry 4 my english).-

Here’s a good question, the overland is suppose to have lockers for the diffs right? Well the last time I went in sand, for whatever reason they kept unlocking and just grinding the shit out of my diff because one was trying to grab while the other spun... at least that’s what it sounded like unless the CV angles were so jacked that something else was sliding out of where it shouldn’t... what ever I heard freaked me tf out and I can’t recreate the noise now or locate anything really wrong. On pavement, putting it in sand or rock locks em all up and I can tell when making a tight turn, however I never hear the sound on pavement or even an uneven gravel driveway, just when I’ve got tires spinning in the sand.. any ideas?? I read one forum that a guy in a regular Cherokee unplugs some relays and everything is fine for him
@markymark2474 жыл бұрын
You have a head gasket issue yet with that beast? My overland tends to run really hot unless I baby the hell out of it and always have the AC on so the rad fans stay on. Usually the fans won’t kick on till 222°-230° coolant temps. Just wondering if anyone else is having these issues
@BrandenLopez4 жыл бұрын
When I had the Jeep it had no issues at all. My buddy has a wk2 too and he hasn’t had any problems yet either!
@joer50574 жыл бұрын
210-225 is "normal" for the hemi. Most new cars run hot like this for emission reasons. On my 300c, I run a 180° T-stat and have my fans set to start coming on around 187° via my i3.

@BrandenLopez5 жыл бұрын
Joey Dorsey With reading everything online, some people can fit 285/50/20 (not sure what brand). It’ll be wider than your current tires for sure. I’m not sure if that’ll lead to rubbing or not. Also, the SRT tires are 295/45/20 and they seem to fit just fine on those models. I guess it depends on the look you want! Let me know if this helped at all!

It didn’t rub on any hard bumps I went over! I think the only way it would rub is taking a sharp turn and snacking a bump while doing so... that would definitely hit. But normal driving you should be fine!
