Thank you, Tom! Such a great explanation of our adaptive resistance equipment👏. We are glad you enjoyed your session. It is always a pleasure to have you in.

Honestly it's the least I can do. Guys I think your gym is revolutionary! I'm hugely thankful to you for the experience.

A big issue is the lack of rotational movements. The human body isn't designed to over move in straight lines - climbing, running to hunt or away from something, throwing and climbing.

Great video

Hi Tom, thanks for posting this video. One thing I'm curious about is how warmups are approached for this type of resistance training. With free weights and machines one would typically progressively increase weight until reaching the working weight for that workout. Do you do something similar with the ARX?

This is a great question, thanks for asking. I've noticed exactly the same - when I do the workouts I've just gone straight into the sets and reps with no warm up. To be honest - I don't like it. I could easily take 2-4 reps and just push at 30-50% effort in which case I think this would be fine for a warm up. I've just fallen into the routine of how the trainers run the sessions which does not include a warmup. I would suggest anybody who has access to this equipment and is using it on their own, should definitely warm up. Well done sir - good thinking, great question!

Curious how long the work out is and how many days a week it would take to achieve a nice cut look?
@tommycartwright7 ай бұрын
Hi there, thanks for your interest in this vlog. Honestly I couldn't tell you that just yet. As of now, I have just completed my 5th week in a row. I've been training twice per week where each workout takes under 30mins to complete (6 exercises each with 6 reps only). The actually work time excluding rests is under 12mins! A cut look, in my opinion always comes down to diet, not training. In other words, no matter what gym equipment you're using, be it ARX, traditional weights, swimming, calisthenics, etc., looking lean is about what you're feeding your body. At 12 weeks I'll post again. Thanks for your support, Tom.

@@tommycartwright I agree on the diet. I just found a place by me that has these machines and carol bikes that offers 1 on 1 training. I am going to go see what the cost is to join today. Time is the biggest hinderance for me. If I do a traditional work out 45-60 minutes then recover for 15 to 20 after that I will continue to sweating for another 15 then I can shower. So it's a 2 hour ordeal.

@@thewarwithyourself-hx5qx Good stuff - my advice to you then is to give your experience using ARX equipment time. Personally, I would commit to 3 months worth of training. There are learning curves that you need to pass through in order to appreciate fully how this style of training works as well as give you the most complete all-round experience. Enjoy, you won't be disappointed!

@@tommycartwright Signed up for 6 weeks and will see how things progress. Was sore for almost a week after first session. Second one was yesterday not hurting as bad and showed gains already probably just from better understanding the work flow.

Pressing on the omni machine looks very unstable and unsafe
@tommycartwright4 ай бұрын
Hi there, I can appreciate this comment and glad somebody has raised this. A bit of background - my right shoulder has a 5yr old slap tear and my left one these days is struggling a bit too. Oh the joys of getting into your 40s. This has been from years of playing tennis at a high level and, if I'm being honest, probably some neglect on my behalf. In the video, it's clear to see how I am shaking during the cable presses. The exercise definitely challenges all of the stability muscles around the shoulder. In my case, these need work. Nonetheless, I still feel the exercise on the ARX gear is inherently safe. This is mostly because of the slow rep speed programmed into the set (5-7seconds). So long as one can brace through the core well, and maintain the line of drive during the press, I feel it is safe, certainly more so than a traditional free-weight press. As with all exercises however, it is not 100% safe. There is always some potential that one could steer off course and hurt themselves. If you can, try find somewhere where you can try this machine and you'll see what I mean. again, thank you for this comment, it's only through statements/questions like these that we can get to the core of what great training is. All the best!

I’m 53. No injuries. Just haven’t worked out w weight in years. On wegovy. Lost muscle. It’s stable. My muscles shake during end of certain exercises. I’ve only done 2 sessions. Already am sore everywhere except ( neck, knees, wrists, hands, feet, ankles. Hmm. Ears and face).
