My takeaway is that fan base in KC is crazy loud. It was impressive that whistles on the field were drowned out by crowd noise. Kudos from a Steelers fan. That was impressive. 12 men on the field the whole game .

Not just Patrick, not just coach Reid, but EVERYBODY in this organization deserves massive amounts of credit. So proud of my team. That's what it takes to have a dynasty. Not in any order but, 1. Brett Veach, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Holy s***!!! What a legend! Flips Tyreek into GREAT pics, those guys play all year long, get experience, and came up big when we needed them. Romo said it on the broadcast, they weren't rookies anymore. We're in outstanding shape moving forward as well. The future looks VERY bright. We literally made it to the SB in a rebuilding year. 2. Coach Reid, and the entire staff. Unbelievable the way that coach instills confidence in his players. It's always next man up, and that starts in May in OTA's. Skyy was literally the reason the Chiefs lost to the Colts. He had a miserable game, muffed multiple punts, and lost his job. Chiefs deal with some injuries, and Andy tells Skyy he can do it, throws him out there, and he essentially wins the game for us. Coach Reid knew that they would probably see the Bengals in the playoffs again this year, so him and Spags kept a lot of their plays and looks in their bag. Once again, great coaching. HUGE S/O's to Coach Cullen and Coach Dave Merritt, the D-Line and DB's coaches. Cullen had them boys READY. He was great all year. Watch the tape- starting all the way back in OTA's on the Chiefs youtube of him coaching them HARD. Chiefs literally have a superstar coaching staff. Former NFL head coach is the QB coach, Cullen former d-coordiantor, etc. Merritt calls this group his kids. He cares about them dearly and he talks about them being one unit and working together, all of the time. They don't make that tip pick if they don't work together as a unit. 3. MVS=HUUUGE. CJ, SHARK, & D-LINE=HUGE ROOKIE DB'S=HUGE SKYY MOORE, TOWNSEND, BUTKER=HUGE 4. Patrick Mahomes... and Travis Kelce. Nothing really needs to even be said. Banged up? Don't matta baby. Old guy here. Casual Chiefs fan here. I don’t live or die with the team, just want them to be competitive and relevant. With Patrick Mahomes, now they are. I have to admit, he is fun to watch because you don’t what he is going to pull next. I assume that the NFL wants to market that. Smart move on their part. In regards to the game, it could have gone either way. Yes, the Chiefs got the benefit of a couple of calls, the PI on Apple was, 50/50, but anytime you see the defensive player with his arm wrapped around the waist of the receiver, that’s going to be called. I’ve seen that very same call go against the Chiefs. In fact, I’ve seen the Chiefs get screwed on a lot of calls, especially when officiated by a ref named Carl Cheffers. I see it the same way with NBA, and college basketball. You would like the refs to be NOT an active participant, but if they are, call it both ways. I’ve heard people say “that roughing the passer was not right” at the end. It was a “unnecessary roughness” penalty for contacting a player CLEARLY out of bounds! That was the correct call, and should be made every time. The sidelines are there for a reason, so players don’t get hurt, especially quarterbacks. The Chiefs defense actually played with a fire in their belly, the D-line in particular. They asserted their dominance over a subpar O-line for the Bengals. Cincinnati had their chances. The last 2 possessions were INT and punt. They had the ball with 2:12 left in the game and 2 timeouts on about their own 15 or 20 yard line. If they were going to win this game, they needed to make some plays, drive the length of the field, chew up the clock, force the Chiefs to burn their timeouts, then kick the winning field goal with zero time on the clock. This would have left no chance for Mahomes for the comeback. They failed because of the sack by Chris Jones on 3rd and 8, resulting in a 4th and 16, forcing them to punt. Now if Burrows is so much better than Mahomes, he would have gotten it done. Not Today. It was the Chiefs that flipped the script, by getting the punt return, and then the subsequent penalty on 3rd down that led to the 45 yard field goal by Butker that split the uprights and won the game for the Chiefs. They got their revenge after last year’s collapse. Good for them, they needed it.

Then the chiefs punt it anyway. Then there was a questionable pi call I’ll give you that but still pi just as questionable as the holding call that kept the chiefs from getting a td. Then finally a late hit with the shove on mahomes with both feet out of bounds which wasn’t questionable and a very easy call we’ve seen made all season long and ever since the rule was put in effect.

If there wasn't a roughing the passer and they missed the field goal and then goal and then Bengals kick a field goal then what would the narrative be? There is nothing to learn from this. Chiefs had to play their hearts out and then win by just a field goal with seconds to go. This does not bode well for the Chiefs when the meet the Eagles in two weeks.

Biggest takeaway? NFL is rigged AF. Head ref constantly looking at someone on the sidelines for a 'decision'. Very obvious. The NFL needs to learn subtlety from WWE.
