My wife is mad at you. The kids saw Lucas the spider. That led to researching spiders. That led to both my kids finding this channel. That led to them showing me. Now it is my wife against the three of us wanting to add them to the family
@frederic59745 жыл бұрын
Funny... not exactly the same like my family but very funny. In the second or third grade a zoo visited my school, and I begged my father to go there with me. All kids had free entrance and all should form a circle and hold their hands in front of them. And then a tarantula walked over each hand around the circle. My first contact with a very large spider even though I was arachnophobic at this time and for many years after that. But is was so unbelievably cool and awesome. Later I was asked in the middle of the whole crowd and they put a 2.5m large, and 27kg heavy snake on my shoulders. I was a very happy kid this afternoon, and it was the beginning of my everlasting wish to own a tarantula and a snake. My father was impressed by the show, too. And he also wanted a tarantula in the house. *but* my mother and my older sister weren't comfortable with this idea. They still aren't even though all of us children went their own way and moved away and my parents separated a year ago. But my mother and sister both screamed "we're never coming visit you again!" When I told that I maybe buy a tarantula in the near future. 😂😂😂 But I remember this one day of my childhood as if it was just recently (it's over 20 years ago) I hope you could convince your wife to get a tarantula. ;)

@@frederic5974 I've expressed interest to many people in my life about owning a tarantula or a snake. My best friend says she'll never ever come over again if I get either. My mom and little sister are upset by even the idea LOL. My twin sister is just neutral, really. I'm a young adult, so I still live with my parents, but I think my dad and brother are on my side... :D

I found your channel by mistake, I have always been so scared of spiders, I think it stems from my parents, they both screamed and went into a complete meltdown, which in turn made me terrified too. I could not even watch them on television. That is now History, I absolute respect, and admire the Tarantula, I can not believe how beautiful they are. Some of them are stunning, especially the blue fanged ones, I love your new very expensive dwarf T’ oh my life she will be a real beauty when she grows. I think your care and devotion is commendable. I look forward to watching your new videos, I have to say, I love watching you feed them. I have never seen a real live T’ and apart from going to a zoo, I am not sure I ever will see one in the flesh. I will never own one, and I will never, ever handle a spider, by choice!! But I am now hooked on your channel, so I thought I would just say Hi from Sarah, I live in the UK 🇬🇧 and I wish you and your spiders all the very best. Keep up the good work and I will work on getting braver😊 Kindest of Regards Sarah😊🇬🇧
@thatsthat26126 жыл бұрын
Im a bit scared too but when i see a spider i make a point of saying to my kids "aww look a spider, isn't he lovely" what i really want to do is scream, run and hide. Watching these videos is helping but i can't help but think that tarantulas are less scary than house spiders
@zonkz80826 жыл бұрын
Owning and taking care of one helps get past that fear, trust me.
@LukaTisus5 жыл бұрын
Fear of something is definitely learned. Either from the parents, or due to a bad experience (my apprehension around centipedes being from bad experience lol) But as a person who owns snakes, I've noticed most kids that are scared of them are scared because of how their own parents react. If one or both parents are terrified, likelihood is the kids will be, too 'cuz whatever can scare their parents must be terrifying, right? Long story short though, I was freaked out over spiders once, myself, but after my brother got a tarantula and I ended up adopting it when he moved out, it REALLY helped me get past the knee-jerk reaction to stomp on them.

I order from these guys all of the time. I must admit that I knew nothing of their facilities and because the prices are incredibly reasonable, I was worried that they were a "spider mill". I was afraid the spiders lived in small cups or something similar. But seeing big, ornate terrariums with substrate and hides makes me feel good about ordering from them.

It benefits the spiders though reptiles don’t really benefit from things like wood substrate as they can easily swallow it while feeding and get impaction plus it’s important to keep snake enclosures clean if you’ve ever seen snakes poo you’ll know it can be disgusting if you have one as a pet and can clean regularly then great do a natural enclosure and enjoy you’re pet even more but when they have hundreds to clean a bit of paper makes sense

orangerhymed That's what I'm wondering. They kept some males with the females in some of the more communal setups, but otherwise the males seem to be nowhere, at least mention wise.
