Biggest TV News Meltdown Ever 😂 📺 Bloopers

More bloopers I have been holding onto forever. These include some of my favorites. Like the show that was a meltdown from the beginning. Or the time the anchor tried to cover the other anchor's microphone. That may be the funniest blooper ever in my opinion. Some of these are almost 30 years old...like the TV show with no tape! Before everything was digital there were tape operators. Imagine what might happen if the person in charge of putting the tapes in the machines and pressing PLAY didn't bother. It happened once. It wasn't pretty. You get to hear the behind the scenes chaos as the poor anchors are hung out to dry. Why didn't anyone think to say, "Let's toss to an early break, get this figured out and be back in a minute."?

When I did it it was pretty chill. Take one. Take 3, close up. Roll tape. It never got this crazy. Boring really, except you have to concentrate. His engineers are who dropped the ball. Somebody got fired after this.

I have to say the weather guy was very clever, pretending his mic wasn't working. It added some humor to the situation and helped loosen everybody up. The director was very professional, calm, cool and a terrific leader.

Holy GOD!!! That first story with a shooting in NC was in Fayetteville. It was Luigi's restaurant. I worked for the manager of it in Wilmington some years ago. He still has a huge pot for noodles with 5-6 cavities left from the buckshot of that shooting. That's nutty!!!

They do not. I've been a news anchor. They hear what the director says specifically into their IFB. The entire conversation of the control room is not playing in their ear.

Rarely would a director talk to me in IFB if ever. Always a producer. But if it is chaotic like that, you can hear the director shouting when the producer talks to you. They, at least in my three TV stations, are all in the same room. So when you hear the director saying “give her a stretch” the producer then gets on IFB and tells the anchor to stretch. That’s when you hear the chaos as an anchor. And the whole time the producer is telling them to go to the next story, there’s no video, etc. Good times
