Haha your shock at how gory the show is is one of the most fun parts about watching this episode with people. Prior to Red Rush, you only see a tiny trickle of blood coming out of one of the Mauler twins in the very beginning when he gets shot in the eye. They really do an amazing job of giving a false sense of wholesomeness before the end scene.

One little detail I absolutely love in the ending of this episode is that the music just *stops* after Omni-Man kills Red Rush. No music, just the sound of the violence as they all fight. IT just adds such a brutality to the scene.

At first, I honestly thought it was just a show with off-brand versions of DC superheroes. You've got Oni Man, who's basically Superman, and The Guardians of the Globe, who are The Justice League. Then there's Darkwing, who's basically Batman, his name is even a play on Nightwing, which is what Robin becomes. War Woman is Wonder Woman, Red Rush is The Flash, Aquarus is Aquaman, Martian Man is... well, Martian Manhunter, and Green Ghost is a Green Lantern knockoff. But It became a really unique series, love Season 1, though not big on Season 2, so hopefully, Season 3 is a blast. Going from the animation of X-Men '97 (2024) to did not look good. But Season 1 is up there with my favorite superhero shows like Batman: The Animated Series, The Spectacular Spider-Man, X-Men '97, Justice League, Teen Titans, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Batman: Beyond, etc.

I've read the entire Invincible comic 6 times and I can tell you right now, Season 1 is just a warm up, while the main goal of Season 2 is to lay a lot of groundwork for future events in the story. Season 2 wasn't necessarily meant to live up to Season 1, as it’s primary purpose was to set up much bigger stuff for Season 3 and beyond. I've been telling the everyone that I've put onto Invincible that the real meat of the story will start in Season 3. Buckle up cause we really haven't seen anything yet.

It's people who've never read the comics that are complaining about the 2nd season not being on par with season 1... they just want action they don't even know fights don't make good shows become great it's the writing the storytelling aspect is what makes people engaged to them not meaningless fights.
